SimonSays Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I was looking to get a new baitcaster with a budget no more than 170 (firm). So far I was looking at the JDM Scorpion 1000, or possibly a Revo (not sure which model), This will match up with my 6'6" MH Fast rod. Anyone have any suggestions? Quote
Branuss04 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I've heard great things about the revo's. I went with a Curado 100. $130 ish new on ebay. With a budget of 170, you have some good choices. Good Luck Quote
Pond Hopper Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Revo SC, best value in the Revo lineup even at regular price. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted November 21, 2007 Super User Posted November 21, 2007 The Curado 100D gets my vote. Great reel for the money. Quote
SimonSays Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 So the scorpion is out of the question? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 21, 2007 Super User Posted November 21, 2007 Redlinerobert has a Chronarch on the "Flea Market" for $185, maybe he would take $170. Anyhow, be patient and keep your eye on that section of the Forum, there are some GREAT deals there quite often. Otherwise, the JDM Scorpion would be an excellent choice! (I also like the Curado CU100D). Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 21, 2007 Super User Posted November 21, 2007 So the scorpion is out of the question? You can go two ways: 1.- Go with the bling and get a Scorpion 1000 ( which is a great reel ) 2.- Go with Delo 's and get a Curado 100D ( which is a better reel than the Scorpion ) for $165 plus free shipping. bowtech_182 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I just bought the same rod that you have. As of right now I am planning on putting a Team Daiwa advantage super tuned. I held one last weekend and it felt absolutely awesome. They go for $159 retail, ledd on ebay Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted November 22, 2007 Super User Posted November 22, 2007 You can't go wrong with the Revo SX or SC. Falcon Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 22, 2007 Super User Posted November 22, 2007 Revo SC > SX. I have both and the there is no discernible difference in performance. The SC has two fewer bearings, but it doesn't degrade performance at all. SC is the best Revo value out there right now, IMHO. Quote
