clear water....what line

the lake i fish is pretty clear but at this pint of the year the water is a bit stained.

im thinking of using 15 lb spider wire for the heavier lures, but i keep thinking that the fish will see the line and be repelled.

Am i giving the fish too much credit.

I only use Spiderwire in heavy cover.  The fish can see the line, and it can spook them if you aren't careful.  

In stained water I like to use a moss green or smoke color.  In crystal clear I use a fluorocarbon or lighter gauge mono.  If I use mono I fish with the lightest line I can get away with.  I mostly stick to 8 lb. mono when I'm fishing clear.  That's why I like the Fluorocarbon.  I can get away with fishing a 12 to 17lb. test, and the fish can't see it.

i have 2 rods with 12lb florocarbone

1 with 8 lb mono

1 with 8lb floro

and i getting a new reel in the mail tomorrow. sine i fish clear water what line should i use.

any suggestions would be great

I always seem to get more bites with fluorocarbon in clearer water.I don't use braid unless i'm fishing topwater inline spinners.Braid line is easy to pull the lure right out of the fish mouth.I want a little stretch in  my line for what type of fishing i do.Even the with braid i always now use a fluorocarbon leader.

In stain water i don't think it matters much,but for some reason i like green mono line.

Fluorocarbon, it's almost invisible and has greater sensitivity and less stretch than mono.

Flourocarbon is the best choice. But if it's to pricey for ya then Moss Green or Smoke Co-poly or mono is the second best choice.

There are times during the year that my lakes visibility is 12 to 16feet. I use Izorline Smoke Gray Co-poly almost all the time and it does fine. I do drop to 8lb and 12lb test though.

P-line makes a line called Halo that is an awsome co-poly, the twelve pound test does great for me in clear water. Also, it has a very low memory and seems to be much stonger than the rated 12#'s, though I have never tested it.

The waters I fish here in MI are realy clear (zebra mussels).On my spinning reels I'm using 6-8 lb P-Line (clear) or Tectan Premium (light greenish). Tectan has a lower line diameter per Lb strength than most other lines. Sometimes I'll go with Power Pro braid (15lb)and about 6ft of fluoro leader. Most of the cover is vegetation.

On my baitcasters I have 10-14 lb of the same mono or 30-50lb PP braid.

In cold weather (like now) I'll use trilene XL for some applications; seems to be more manageble.

i ike mono but im kinda consirner about not being able to feel the bite.

i fish in about 10 feet as the shallowest...

P-line halo is a fluorocarbon line. It would be a great for the conditions your fishing.

I like Berkley Flourocarbon 15lb.  It has been great line for me so far.  I would highly recommend it.
