Rattlinrogue Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I like Ambassaduer's and Quantum's.I know there are better reels out there, but you go with what you can. Quote
Stingray Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 Shimanos & Quantums. The Shimano spinner is probably my favorite. -S Quote
Bassattackr Posted May 13, 2005 Posted May 13, 2005 LOL, weeeeeelllll that 's what 20 years of tackle junkiness and hundreds of dollars can do, not a pretty sight though........I could have a better boat instead. ....... but I don 't need a better boat. I forgot to add my first reel, it 's an older than dirt Shakespeare spinning reel that my dad bought me when I was 9 years old, don 't ask me what model it is because I don 't have the slightest idea. ??? Ha, yeah Raul I've been a fisherman all my life, but since in the past 2 years turned into a tackle collector instead. : ;D Quote
Super User Raul Posted May 13, 2005 Super User Posted May 13, 2005 Too bad that Cal and JapanReels aren 't here, then our buddies would know the true meanning of the words "Tackle Enthusiast". ;D Something that has bugged me for a while is how the bug bit me ? ??? Quote

steltz Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I just got my first baitcaster.,, I can't believe no one has a Pinnacle. I have an Extant HS its great. I guess that I dont know any difference because its the only Baitcaster I have ever used, but its nice. I also have a spinner a shimano and a daiwa spincast from like 1975 Quote
steltz Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 What type of Curado should I buy? You guys got me excited about buying something new. Although I bought that Pinnacle yesterday. HAHA. I payed 70 bucks for it, and I just found it on ebay for 25 Aww well. I about to head to Table Rock, so I needed a baitcaster anyway. Im also thinking about buying another Pinnacle, but this time the Matrix II. http://www.silstar.com/guide/breels_matrix.html What do you guys think of this reel just by looking at the specs? Just because it has more bearings then most reels, does that necessarily mean its better? Quote
Vidar6 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 It 's conforting to know that there 's another "Tackle Enthusiast" aboard. ;D Yeah, made a one way trip to the "dark side" a long time ago ;D ;D ;D Quote
Jagrrich Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Well somehow that darn Monkey got loose and ended up attacking me again! I was just tooling about the Cabelas website and before I knew it that darned thing had another TDZ loaded in my cart. I'm not sure how he did it but he had my CC # loaded up faster than I could hit the Cancel button! So with this mishap I am forced to update my arsenal list. Its a short list but if that monkey is still on the loose, my list might grow some more!! 4 Quantum Spinning Response TI RE3STi 1 Cabelas Prodigy Baitcaster 2 Daiwa TDZ Baitcasters Quote
Lunkers0 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Hey Steltz, I have 3 Pinnacle baitcasters and I love them! I just bought the Matrix II and I really like it. My opinion is that you can't go wrong with a Pinnacle. But that is just me. Quote

JigNBig Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 hey Raul how do you like that Black Max? I was thinking about getting the Silver Max but wanted to hear what some people had to say first. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 15, 2007 Super User Posted November 15, 2007 hey Raul how do you like that Black Max? I was thinking about getting the Silver Max but wanted to hear what some people had to say first. If I recall, Raul's Black Max is a Cardinal spinning reel, not one of the new low profiles. Here's mine 1 x AG Revo STX 2 x AG Rexo SX 2 x AG Revo SC 2 x AG Ambassadeur C4 5600 1 x AG Ambassabeur C4 6500 1 x AG Cardinal 500 ALB 2 x AG Crdinal 802 1 x AG Cardinal 804 1 x Browning Citori 1 x Browning Medallion (edit) Just added 2 Shimano Curado 200 DHSV + couple of Daiwas I've retired. Quote
JigNBig Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 How has the Browning held up? I ordered one, made 6 casts, layed it down, and shipped it back to bass pro the next day. Then bought a Pfluger Supreme. Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 15, 2007 Super User Posted November 15, 2007 Both of them have held up exceptionally well. Mine are a several years old. Bass Pro owns (or manages, or whatever) Browning fishing. In the last year or so both models have changed. I don't like the news models. There's something significantly different - they seem cheaper, less smooth, and have bling on them. My Medallion and Citori will be my last Browning reels. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 17, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 17, 2007 Ok, this is bad. I really don't know exactly how many reels I have between the wife and I. LOL! Off the top of my head: 5 Revo STX 6 Torno 10-15 4600c 2 Chronarch 2 5600D Spinning 5-8 Cardinal 702 1 Cardinal 802 1 Shimano (don't recall the model. Has a wooden handle though.) There's more, but that's all I can think of right now. LOL! Quote
