Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 13, 2007 Super User Posted October 13, 2007 No pictures yet. I'll be trying it out on Stripers this afternoon. From my initial impressions, E21 has a winner in it's hands with this rod. It weighs nothing. I mean the only comparable rod weight wise is a Steez or GLX. Maybe halfway between the two, as it is definitely lighter than a GLX and about par with a Steez. It will handle lures between 1/4 - 1 oz (the 1 oz part would be stretching it IMHO) The rod is very nicely finished and again, first impression, an absolute STEAL at $150. Pictures to follow. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted October 13, 2007 Super User Posted October 13, 2007 Congrats. Can't wait to here about it. Quote

ABC123 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 What is the actual action of the rod??? More inline with a glass/crankbait rod, or fast to ex-fast action??? Thanks. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 He's also replaced his megastrike with a bottle of Seven Seas Italian dressing lol Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted October 14, 2007 Super User Posted October 14, 2007 I'm ordering one.. Quote
Super User David P Posted October 14, 2007 Super User Posted October 14, 2007 I'm thinking about ordering one, but I want to know more. How does the rod feel with different baits. Robert, what type of techniques would you recommend this rod for.. I want a Drop Shot rod, and maybe another jig rod, but from the sound of it, it isn't the ideal rod for either... Maybe I'm wrong? Super User grimlin Posted October 14, 2007 Super User Posted October 14, 2007 I'm gonna sound real stupid..but what is a Parabolic action rod? What is the actual action of it? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 14, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 14, 2007 I explain how the rod is built, plus review several other new products, in my article here: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/icast_2007.html Hope that helps! Quote
Lightninrod Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I'm gonna sound real stupid..but what is a Parabolic action rod? What is the actual action of it? The rod bends all the way through its length: Of course, there can be 'stiff' or 'whippy' parabolic rods.... Dan Quote
Super User grimlin Posted October 15, 2007 Super User Posted October 15, 2007 Ahh got ya...thanks Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 16, 2007 Author Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Sorry for the delay guys. Busy weekend What can I say about this rod. It really impresses me. Light weight, loads great, casts a country mile, super sensitive, great components, nicely balanced. Makes a great rod for throwing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, wieghtless plastics like flukes would be great on this rod as well. Get one now guys, before they decide to raise the price. I promise you wont be dissapointed. I didnt think it would be strong enough against peacocks but I have changed my mind. This rod will make the trip to Brazil as well. Here are some pictures. Quote
rfrazier Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 hmmm tempting. That orange pixy looks nice on it. Quote
Guest btlva Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hey I gotta ask...where'd you get that Calcutta? Is that a custom paint job or something? I love it! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted October 16, 2007 Author Super User Posted October 16, 2007 It's an old limited edition "cigar" reel. Came in a humidor and everything. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 It's an old limited edition "cigar" reel. Came in a humidor and everything. Because you don't want too much moisture around a fishing reel,.......................... : IMHO, this is one of the ugliest rods I've ever seen but then when you put that pixy on it,....well, ....not so bad. What happened to the redline creel of "I may not catch fish,...but I'll look d@mn sexy trying"???? (I know, that's what the Ranger full of Evergreens, Kistler's, Steez's, Loomis's and Croix's are for :)) Definitely a big plus on my trip was getting to try every high end stick and reel out there. Some cool stuff. The line-up has changed considerably in only 1 month,....what will next year hold?? (reminds me of the old "demo days" when I used to ski. The general public got to actually ski on next years product. Often skis they could never afford to buy so at least they got to see what they were missing, lol.) Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 16, 2007 Super User Posted October 16, 2007 Be sure to let us know how it performs and if any rabbits chase you around the lake. Quote
