Bass-Whisperer, Porter's article on the Speed Shad is dead on, they are fish catching machines but they cast like a kite. You really have to see them at work in the water and feel them through your hands to fully appreceiate what they can do.

Thanks for the link.

Another one I'll add is the old Ozark Mountain Kingfisher.  I still have three.  They're at their best in the slop.  Kind of a cross between a spoon and a ????.  Even trying to describe them would be rather difficult.  I'll try and dig one of mine out and get a photo posted here.  Absolutely OUTSTANDING on matted weeds or coming through the thick stuff.

Sory, I forgot to add the site with the lure Picture.

FYI: I have seen a lot if not most of the lures here mentioned on the site below

All lures I have seen there also have pictures

It is the best and most comprehensive site for old, used, or

DISCONTINUED LURES

*!1 Problem; Very Disorgnised So Look Around It is Probaly there and don't forgit the little Assorted box thingies, there is great stuff there if, and I mean IF, you know what you are looking for, because the names arn't alwayse written there and by some stuff there are question marks because they arn't sure. Over All VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY good

The Rapala Rattiling Fat Rap.....one of my favorite cranks of all time. I don't even have any more either. My last one swam away clenched in the jaws of a pike who bit me off a couple years ago :'(. I keep my eye out for them at flea markets and on e-bay but my god the last one I saw on e-bay sold for $32........I didn't like it that much ;D. I also used to really like the floating Rat-L-Traps that had a lip on them like a normal crank bait, they were deadly over submerged eel grass on my home lake in early spring. Don't have any more of those either. For soft plastics, most of my old favorites are still made, but in the pre-senko era I loved the little 4" Berkley power finesse worm, I still have a pack or two of them, but they have not been made in years.

The discontinued Fat Raps are also my all time favorite. I still have 6 or so and still get all tense when one gets hung knowing I will probably not be able to replace it. Those cranks have bailed me out more times than I can remember...

Is this the Ozark Mountain Fishing Lures Kingfisher you were talking aboutDSCN3963.JPG

That's the one!!  Wobble it over weeds/slop until it comes to an opening, then kill it and let it flutter down.
