SVWillow Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 OK I guys, I followed most of your advice. Went a bit heavier because will probably fish salt water inshore and ICW at least 50% of the time. Got one of the new '08 St. Croix Avids7' one piece Medium Fast and a Team Daiwa Tierra 3000. Spooled it with 6 lb for bass and 12 lb for the ICW. Hope this will be a good set up. Only problem is; now what do I say to the wife when she sees how much I spent? Thanks for your help. Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 24, 2007 Super User Posted October 24, 2007 Say nothing and that 's it. Now, if you only had a couple of setups ......... Quote

Branuss04 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Some people may call me whupped but take her out to dinner and tell her then, that way she may at least not make you sleep on the couch. Good Luck. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted October 25, 2007 Super User Posted October 25, 2007 Say nothing and that 's it. I just celebrated my 30th anniversary, October 22, 1977. Never lie! If you don't know what to say, have nothing to say or you are already in a hole... Say NOTHING... Go to bed. : Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 25, 2007 Super User Posted October 25, 2007 Hey, it is money well spent as compared to going to the local bar to watch a football game with the guys. Once she sees how much you love to fish all will be OK. Show the rig to her and be proud of your setup. Quote
Super User David P Posted October 25, 2007 Super User Posted October 25, 2007 Just tell her to be thankful you're not spending it on other women. Quote
luckyinkentucky Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I feel your pain. ;D Just remember ... never lie to her or cover things up. It's better to take a beatin' with telling the truth than to lose trust with a lie. WHATEVER you do .... don't hide it. She'll find it one day while cleaning up, and it will be the mornin' when she's already p'd about something else, and is itching for a fight if you know what I mean. Better go ahead and just tell her. I've always found it better to ask before I buy something pricey. At least then you can justify your "need" with a yarn if you're a good salesman. Quote
