Well, as many of you know, I am in Cali this week visiting with Redlinerobert. We went to the Delta last Saturday and I met his friend "Long". Long said to me, whatever you do, don't use Robert's rods. He said he picked one up once and instantly called Robert an jerk for encouraging him to do so and now I know why.

Yesterday we fished a private club called the Kelsey Bass Ranch. I made the mistake of grabbing Redline's Steez M/L with a Stella on it.

I'll never be the same. Holy crap. I got worried thinking if this super light unit decides to float away, I only weigh 135 lbs and it might carry me up into the stratosphere, lol.

Super light, super sensitive and just darn sexy.  I had no idea how much stronger a fish feels at that level of sensitivity.  It's got backbone too which surprised me.  On the way out of the ranch, we stopped at a mini pond near the exit and fished from shore.  Every cast was a fish and you have to haul them up and over the brush at the ponds edge.  LOTS of it.  No problem here, I was thoroughly impressed.

NOW I HAVE TO HAVE ONE!!!  ROBERT YOU JERK!!! ;):)

Anyone know a good loan agent?? ::D

Why would anyone spend a lot of money on a rod & reel when you can catch fish with a cane pole.  ;) ;D

That Stella is like cocaine, you will be addicted before you know it. Be carefull!! 8-)

Haha, Robert was telling me to get a Steez over the Loomis GLX rod.

I was going to, BUT I found a good deal on a GLX 844C and went with it instead of the steez.

My next rod will be a Steez.

I'm sure robert will sell you one of his, what , 20? Lol. He has an entire collection going of steez rods.

I can understand your pain, after fishing a 1/2 oz spinnerbait with a crappy rod for about 4 days my wrist is killing me.  I think that rod is gonna hit the loner bin and use my better equipment from here on out, and none of it is close to a steez or stella.  ;)

Believe me friend, I feel your pain!!!  His name is Mr. Ito and he has some pretty fine tackle.  ;)

How bout I send you 20 packs of Basstrix 6" for a steez rod!!

Haha, man now you have me thinking I shoulda got the Steez instead of the GLX. I know you told me to, but I got the GLX For $290 instead of $355.

Did you end up winning the bid on that 7ft?

I read about these rods from the 2007 ICAST show but never thought more about them, especially when you look at the price.

However, now that LBH has tried them and has blessed them with pond water I just have to have one.

Maybe for Christmas.

Which one do you guys suggest??????

All of them. ;)

If I had to pick just one, it would be the 7'1" rod.  I love it so much I have two of them.

I didnt win the 7 footer bud.  maybe next time....

There 's an old proverb: Never say: I will NOT drink water from this well ....... you are going to drown in it

Rolo said it quite clearly, I 'm in the same school of tought, if you don 't own or have owned you can 't have an educated opinion because you have no experience with it until you tried, only then your opinion has some value. After never before.

Welcome to the world of upper end gear.

He can still be called Low Budget; Megabass, Evergreen, Daiko have "budget" rods too, $300+ budget rods.  ;)

What about this:

"Hi_Dollar_Hooker"...

Nope, that just makes you sound like a rich (ryhmes with cut). Well, with all of those Steez rods, I guess you would be! Just kiddin' LBH. I just got my first President in today. I'm about to go put it on my Avid rod. It was a monumental moment for me.....now I just feel cheap. THANKS! ;D
