moby bass Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 It seems as though quite a number of anglers ordered the Abu Garcia Revo SC on sale from Cabelas. Now I'm curious. What rod did you mount it on and what is it's intended purpose? I'm most likely putting mine on a Shimano Clarus, just haven't decided which one yet. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I have mine on a St. Croix Premier 6'6" MF and it seems to be a decent fit. However I am going to be ordering a Dobyns rod here shortly and will be switching the reel over to that to use with finesse jigs, senkos, flukes, etc. I like the high speed to recover line for those type of presentations. Super User skunked_again Posted August 31, 2007 Super User Posted August 31, 2007 ive had my revo on many rods. i personaly didnt like it on a 6'6" rod. i now have it on a cheaper Browning MH rod and i like the feel much better. believe it or not if i could get a Quarrow rod without mail ordering it id have the unit on one of those. if you can i would take the reel to the local store and mount it to different rods to see what you like. the bass pro shop here is real good about letting us do that. Olebiker Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I'm kinda cheap when it comes to rods, so I put mine on a 6'6" Lightning Rod. This is probably going to be my Rattletrap/Aruku outfit. That high speed retrieve is going to take some getting used to. I'm still using one old Ambassadeur with a 3.8 to 1 retrieve for worm fishing. Quote
Super User Micro Posted September 1, 2007 Super User Posted September 1, 2007 I didn't give much thought to what I would used them for when I bought them. I have one on a 6'10" Browning Medallion GT and the other on a 6'6" Browning Medallion GT, both medium heavy/fast. These aren't expensive rods ($50) but are very sensitive and I like them a lot. I'll probably use them for fishing worms. Quote

Browning rods are one of the best deals there are if you dont mind a rod that is a little heavier. they have a sweet hook-set. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted September 1, 2007 Super User Posted September 1, 2007 I put one of mine on a Dobyns 703C and the other on a Dobyns 682C. They have been wonderfull and they balance those rods out perfectly. Quote
W1-10 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I have one on a 7' M/H fast st. croix avid for spinnerbaits. Another on a 7' M moderate st. croix premier glass for cranks. The bulge in the avid rod handle fits well with the small profile of the revo. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted September 1, 2007 Super User Posted September 1, 2007 I have had my S-L that I got here from Cart7, on every custom rod I own from 5'6" to 7'10" Mediums to Mag Heavy powered rods, it fits them all and balanced well. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote

Super User cart7t Posted September 1, 2007 Super User Posted September 1, 2007 I have mine on an All Star classic MH spinnerbait rod 6'8". The other is on an old BPS, 6' IM6 Bionic Blade Pistol grip rod I use for topwaters. Used both of them last weekend. Great reels for those rods. Quote
