I SCORED!!!!  A few months ago I put a Chronarch MG on the flea market board to trade. When Alpster offered to build me a rod in exchange I didn't hesitate.

Ronnie is the man, and was a great help.

What we finally ended up with is an 8'4" EX-HEAVY swimbait rod.

It is a Graphite USA 85 MONSTER MAG blank.

It is everything I was hoping for, and it showed up EXACTLY how I asked for it.

By the time we were done, the cost of parts alone were about the same as a brand new Chronarch MG, then you add in shipping and labor and it should be a $400+ rod. But the guy will ONLY LET ME SEND THE MG!!!!! You are too cool Ronnie, and I definitely appreciate it!

And guys let me tell you, the rod is beautiful! It is not very flashy, but that is not because ALPSTER couldn't do it, it is just because I wanted a very understated, classy, FUNCTIONAL rod. What it lacks in flash it makes up for in pure craftsmanship and quality! The wraps are gorgeous and the finish is PERFECT! I've also got a Shimano Calcutta 400 TE saddled up on it.

I can't wait to whack a toad on this thing!!!!!!

THANK YOU RONNIE!!!!! THE MG IS ON THE WAY!

That thing is built like a tank. I like the logo on the split grip section. What a hookset you could generate with that thing. I would be just as happy as you 4Bizz.

Great looking rod!  I like understated.  Let the "flashyness" show in performance.

Enjoy!

That is a sweet looking rod, fourbizzle.  Nice work, Alpster!  I like understated, functional rods as well.

I am very glad that Jay is pleased with the rod. I also appreciate the kind words from others. What fourbizzle didn't tell you is, he had to wait all summer to get the rod in his hands. I had one emergency after another and there were many delays, but Jay was patient and understanding all the way. It is pretty special to get to make a rod for a fisherman of his caliber. Anyone whose been around very long knows that fourbizzle is the real deal and knows how to stick a big bass. For me it's kind of like building a six-gun for Wyatt Earp.  8-) I am looking forward to pictures of some big CA bass caught on that rod.

Thanks!

Ronnie

It's real cool how how both of you feel about the deal. One who aprreciates the craftsmanship and quality of another's hard work and one who appreciates the ability of who he spends so much time and hard work to support. Real great example of the things this board can do...
