KevO Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Anyone use this line, I put some 30# on for striper fishing. I like it so far it is very tough, sensitive, and casts like a dream. I heard braid isn't good for crankbaits, is this true? why not? Quote
W1-10 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 the stretch of mono helps with hooksets on treble hook lures, as well as the fight in general. You could get away with fluoro but braid has no stretch and may cause you to pull the hooks out. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted August 29, 2007 Super User Posted August 29, 2007 If ur gonna use braid i suggest a med or med light rod for cranking ...anyhow set ur drag looser also Quote
surfer Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I use Suffix Braid and like it a lot. Out of the braids I tried it's the one I prefer. Quote
KevO Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 Thanks guys... I use a medium action for cranking anyway so I guess I will be fine. I'll just have to remember not to set the hook as hard. Quote
michbass Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I like the Suffix braid from what I have used of it but for Crankbaits I like Flourocarbon or at the least mono. I have never used braid on cranks seems like it would slow the rate of fall for sure and not let the crankbait get in the correct depth? Quote
Branuss04 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I have a reel with 50# sufix on it. I love it, Super strong and sensitive. I use it mainly when fishing at night with big plastics. Highly recommended Quote
moby bass Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I'm happy to hear the good reports. I just bought some today...before I read this thread Quote
