Super User grimlin Posted August 21, 2007 Super User Posted August 21, 2007 Anybody have this reel? This reel is getting great reviews just about everywhere that selling them.I'm considering on buying one soon.Quantum gets a bad name by alot of people for being cheap, but this reel seems anything but cheap and seems to have a great price tag for the reviews it gets. THEbassmaster Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 i have one. it was my first good baitcaster. i use it for t-rigs, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and cranks. its a good reel for the money. good luck on whatever you buy. aaron Quote
Super User grimlin Posted August 21, 2007 Author Super User Posted August 21, 2007 The only bad thing i've heard about quantum is they tend to be a little heavy in weight. I think i'm gonna try it..otherwise i can just sell it here or ebay if i don't like it. Quote
LakeAnnaBasser Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 It is a good reel. I also have a curado 100. The curado is lighter and alot smoother but i can cast a mile with the quantum. Quote

lubina Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I think that this is the best low profile reel that Quantum has. I have put mine through Hell, it has scratches every where and still works great, probably the only Quantum bc that I will not ever sale. In the other hand it has 2 things that makes it not very competitive with today's reels; it is has a larger frame that feels even bigger when is on the reel seat, palming is not one of its best things, the other one is its weight, $ 130.00 is a lot to ask for a 9.1 oz reel. A thing I did is changing the handle to a TD-Z that weight 0.4 oz less and it has 4 ball bearings and better knobs ( I like them better ), makes the retrieve a lot of smoother. If I'm going to buy a reel today with that budget, I would get a Revo SX for another $ 20.00. Just my 2 cents. Quote
