Ky_Lake_Dude Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Whats your favorite? Mine is Abu Garcia. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 The Sheriff will be along, pronto Shimano Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I checked Pflueger, WHAT ELSE However i have to be honest I am enjoying my BPS Reels just as much as my Pfluegers 8-) Quote
Super User .RM. Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 From my signature line you can see what my favorites are, but I voted Shimano® Tight Lines All!! Quote
RiskKid. Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I voted Shimano because Daiwa was not a choice. My favorites actually are Daiwa for baitcasting and Shimano for spinning. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 Well, you probably need Daiwa in the poll and maybe "Other" just so everyone who wants to participate can vote for their favorite. I'm still trying to decide. : Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 Im sorry I didn't put Daiwa. When I posted this I felt like I had left something out :-[ Quote
the captain Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Daiwa spinning and pinnacle baitcasting. thats for bass, as for muskie I have a penn spinning reel and for trout I have a Zebco closed face reel. I have 2 Daiwas and they are my favorite because my dad gave them too me. Quote
JayW Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Shimano all the way. Abu would be my next choice. I fish nothing but Calcutta's (just because it's what I like). Mostly 100's but I do have a 50 on a little 5'11" M rod that I built a while back. It's my travel rod. It's really personal preference. I like strong, small, round reels. Calcutta fits the bill and they have a very smooth drag system. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 Shimano has to be favorite but Daiwa is a close second. I have been spoiled by my Shimano Calais 201A. ;D Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 I'm still trying to decide. : Ah Cumon, live on the edge! We only need ONE more Shimano vote Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 "Polls" don't seem to be very popular around here anymore. 10,274 members, 19 votes... Well, 9 votes for Shimano vs. 8 for the field. My vote is included. 8-) Quote
Super User RoLo Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 "Polls" don't seem to be very popular around here anymore. 10,274 members, 19 votes... I was just kidding of course, but you make a good point, that never occured to me (0.18% turnout) Roger Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 shimano here i love my new calais 200 ;D this reel is simply amazing Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Hey spin as several people seem torn between 2 or 1 for spin and another for BC you can set up the choices to be more than one. Quote
The Dude Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Daiwa for collecting, and Shimano for fishing... Quote
Super User burleytog Posted July 18, 2007 Super User Posted July 18, 2007 There are manufacturers other than Shimano? Quote
ILfisherman Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Well, I see the Shimano posse is out in full force ;D I, on the other hand, enjoy an inexpensive, high quality, high performance reel much like the PFLUEGER Trion To each their own, I guess... Quote
Super User burleytog Posted July 19, 2007 Super User Posted July 19, 2007 Shimano's are expensive? :-? Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Well, here goes - Quantum - that's what I got and serves me well. Rapidly becoming a fan of Pflueger as well. Hope to get a Shimano one day just to see for myself. Know its got to be good stuff. Quote
