Super User senile1 Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 This rod must be stored properly. Otherwise, the varmints would eat your rod. Interesting idea. I'll wait to see a test. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted July 17, 2007 Super User Posted July 17, 2007 Just got off the phone with Peter from E21. I am on the list to purchase. They look amazing! www.e21fishing.com Quote

AHA! I THOUGHT that butt looked familiar ,.... Why so ugly with the color/graphics, man that thing is huge visual turn off. Doesn't mean it's not a great rod, for all I know, but cosmetically, I give it a -2 Quote

AHA! I THOUGHT that butt looked familiar ,.... Why so ugly with the color/graphics, man that thing is huge visual turn off. Doesn't mean it's not a great rod, for all I know, but cosmetically, I give it a -2 I prefer more subtle colors for my rods as well. I don't doubt that a lot of thought went into this rod. At the $350 price point, it sounds like they want to compete in the top-end rod market. Quote
dbass Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Read this quote on the Rodbuilding.org forum this morning about the Tackletour article.. Re: Take a look at tackletour.comPosted by: Tom Kirkman (Moderator) Date: July 16, 2007 11:46AM Most of the major commercial rod companies subscribe to RodMaker. I have to believe they pay attention to trends in the custom rod building world. There really wouldn't be any other reason for them to subscribe. Seems most of what has finally started to trickle down to hit the ICAST shows, has definitely come from the work tables and shops of some of the best custom builders we have and there articles that are headlined in the magazine. Now just starting to show up in the really higher end rods from many of the manufacturers... All except for rods made from wabbit food... ;D Tight Lines!!!! Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted July 28, 2007 Super User Posted July 28, 2007 This reminds me of that silly stuff that feels like plastic AND stronger than steel? HAHAHA. Carbon fiber. Sounds like a dietary supplement. ;D I'll give you guys a full report once I get my carrot stick in October. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 28, 2007 Super User Posted July 28, 2007 You can always eat it if you get hungry, Mighty expensive finger food..... Quote

Guest avid Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 given who designed it, it's bound to be a great rod that I will never own. An orange fishing rod? why not pick celery or cucumbers. at least it would be green and you could dip into some guacamole if you got hungry I think Roland Martin's gonna endorse it on his next show. Seriously I thing the carrot stick will mark the zenith in the current rod design craze. Maybe then we go back to fishing with good quality grahpite and fiberglass rods. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 29, 2007 Super User Posted July 29, 2007 It just happens that the builder has got best of ICAST 5 times. This is true and he is a rod building genius but nothing he makes ever sells very well. Maybe he is too far ahead of his time or maybe he needs an education in marketing. I don't know what it is but he needs to sell his winning concepts. The five little crystal plaques he's got aren't worth any money. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 The one possible draw back here would probabbly be not fishing around any of those WASCALLY WABBITS!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
