worms4life Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Anyone have any theories/myths/tips for spooling line onto baitcasters vs. spinning reels? Should you wind the line on opposite the way it layed on the storage spool? I have the Berkley spool station so the spools stand on end rather then lay flat like if you would just do it on the floor. Just looking for tips to help reduce line twisting etc. Quote

TI_Bassin Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I have the Berkley spool station to and only use it for bait casters, I found that for spinning reel's it harder to spool without getting twist in the line. For bait casters like they said the line should come off the top of the spool but for spinning reel I just put it on the floor, run it through some guides and then have the line come off the spool counter clock wise, after a couple of turns I lower the tip of the rod to check for twist in the line coming of the spool and if their are any turn the spool over but that doesn't happen to often.
