Glad to see the forums back. I just needed to replace a spinning reel, and came across this deal at Dick's sporting goods (don't normally shop there) that I thought was too good to pass up. In Georgia (if not nationally) Dicks have the Shimano Symetre on sale for 69.95.  If you pick up a 2006/2007 Georgia DNR fishing guide, which is free, it has a $10 coupon for Dicks.  Picked this gem up for 59.95.  A good deal, I hope.

That's a GREAT deal and you will be very pleased with the Symetre.

A symmetry for the price of a Sahara, now that is a good deal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The symetre is the best value in spinning reels bar none.

So far, so good. When I bought the Premier, I was short on $, so an Avid was out of the question, but it's turned out to be a really good rod. Light, balanced with the Symetre, pretty versatile.  If I were to buy a new spinning rod today, I probably get an Avid, but the Premier (got it with a Dick's coupon as well, $60) has worked out.

That is NOT a deal. It's a steal!!! ;D You scored big. The symetre IMHO is one of the best bangs for the buck and you did it for $20 less. Congrats! ;)
