jeremyt Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Hi all, I have a old graphite rod that was a b-day present from my folks about 12 years ago. The problem I am having with it is that the plastic rod seat/ rod holder, is twisting back and forth around the blank. I have tried to unscrew the butt end to no avail and I am scared too much pressure will break the blank. I am wanting to get it fixed for the sentimental value it has to me. Any suggestions. Thanks Jeremy Quote
dbass Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Yup. Look in your local phone directory for rod repair or custom rod builders in your area. Talk to them about the repair. It would be alot cheaper than trying to ship it all over the US trying to find a long distance repair.. Just my .02¢ Tight Lines !!! Quote
JayW Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Are you saying that the reel seat is loose? If so... a lot of people repair them by drilling a small hole in the reel seat (make sure not to drill into the blank) and pour some 5 minute epoxy down in there. Make sure the reel seat is on straight before you do so. Quote
