MarkO. Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I figure a Texas rig. But this guy at work said to hook it through the middle so both ends are equal length. He called it a wacky rig. He said when you jerk it and let it settle, both ends will flap on the way down and that is where you get the strikes. Anyone hear of a wacky rig? Going tomorrow. First time using the senkos. After reading posts hear, had to buy some to try. Thanks, Mark O.
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 19, 2007 Super User Posted September 19, 2007 Alot of guys only fish their Senkos wacky. I prefer t-rig. Falcon
tritz18 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Wacky rig with a small o-ring or zip tie to put the hook under so u don't have to hook the senko itself. But lately I have been trying texas rigging and had success. I would try both until u find what the fish like where you are fishing. Good Luck
Lightninrod Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I've caught Bass up to 5 lbs when wacky-rigging a 5" Senko. I also rig them weightless, Texas style on a 4/0 EWG hook. Good luck with yours . Dan
Super User Sam Posted September 20, 2007 Super User Posted September 20, 2007 Wacky is a lot of fun and you will get a lot of hits. Texas style is used a lot, if not almost always, and it will produce some good fish. I threw my wacky rigged Senko after the bass missed my buzzbait yesterday evening and caught a nice pond size one pound bass. I throw my Senkos 80% of the time wacky rigged and 20% Texas rigged. I just like the way the wacky Senko falls as I think it will attract more bites. I use the weedless striaght shank 2/0 and 3/0 hooks which prevents a lot of snags.
Guest muddy Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I use the *** The 5" , I t-rig, weightless. When I first started using them I was having a lot of hook up prpblems > RW came to the rescue. I was usning old fahioned t rig hooks. He suggest EWG , although i believe he suggested 4/0 or 5/0, I do not remeber I switched to EWG, but I like 3/0 It made allthe difference in the world!
