Hey guys,

What line and size are yall pitchin and flippin jigs with?  Just wondering what folks are using, I am using braid, but thinking of fluorocarbon, just wanted some other opinions.

Thanks

Stick with the braid. I use 50lb PowerPro and never broke a fish off.  When flipping and pitching u want the zero strecth braid offers.  Besides the areas where u most likely are pitchin' and flippin' braided line looks like the cover the jig or plastic is in such as weeds and wood.  NEVER USE FLUOROCARBON!

Right now Im using Stren 14lb mono.  That is only because its on my only baitcaster as of now thats pullin duty for everything over 1/4oz. lol.  When I get a rod/reel combo for just flippin/pitchin im thinkin about 30lb braid.

I was just wondering because everywhere that I read these guys are using  fluoro.  I want to keep using my braid, was just wondering though, I love the feel and no stretch of the braid, thanks for the responses everyone.

I must be the exception. I have been flipping with 20lb florocarbon for about 5 years and love it. I haven't had any problems. The only time I fish braid is when I'm fishing a lake with a lot of weeds.....................Al

Braid ( Sufix 50 for me ) with a 20 lbs fluoro leader. This formula works for me.

Me too.

Power Pro 50lb braid tied direct to the jig. B/c gear. Never had any problems with it.

What he said. x2 - Only way to fly. JMHO

20 lb. sufix tied direct to the jig.  I like the smaller diameter,  seems like it is a little more sensitive to me.  Then again, if I lived where there was the possibility of catching a bass as big as a small to medium sized dog I would probably be using the 50 lb. too. ;D
