berkley Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 i ve heard its crap and have heard its good lline i was gone to buy some till i heard some of the coments so what are yalls thoughts Quote
senko_77 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I have mixed opinions on it. It almost seems like the spools are inconsistent. Some are awesome, and other's break like butter. I have never had experience with straight Vanish, I have always used Vanish Transition. It always seemed to get abrasion very easily, but I loved how it handled when casting, and even though I always got abrasion, I never had breaking problems at the abrasion point. Whenever I would break it, it would be at some random spot throughout the line. As far as the Transition being like $16.00/spool, I think the regular Vanish is a better deal, but all my spinning reels have been switched over to braid/flouro leader and that is the most money smart thing I have ever done. Also, the Wal-Mart at my house had spools of Vanish on clearance for $4.00 That was an awesome deal and I bought everything they had. Quote
berkley Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 oh well i be using regular vanish and some were around 14 pounds Quote

Super User dodgeguy Posted June 15, 2007 Super User Posted June 15, 2007 like seguar invizx. ;D Quote
RobDar Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I am not a fan. I tried it for a season and was disappointed in it. It works okay for cranks in open water, but does not handle abrasion in the least...and it seems like you have to be real careful with your knots. If you over stretch the line or tie it too tight it snaps. I will not buy it again. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Bass Pro Shops XPS fluorcarbon gets it done for me. Quote
rvrnr64 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Save your money. I'm gonna give Fireline Crystal another try now that I know you need backing with braids but I'll only be using it on my ultra light. My go to line on everything else now is Power Pro, however if Crystal does the job on the UL it may get promoted. I do like the invisibility concept 'cause when the water is shallow and clear and the fish are finicky it makes me wonder if they see the line and say "no thanks". I do have a problem with these lines that you get one spooling for $15 though. Quote
Gorgebassman Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 I like you wondered whether it was worth buying or not so I got some and have used it for a couple months now on a spinning outfit that I drop shot with and have not had a lick of trouble with it. It is the straight vanish not the transition and it has done me well so far. Quote
berkley Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 well i was gonna get it for my 8 year old cousin on his zebco 33 becuase he doesent have enough power to set the hook with streching mono so i was gonna get him so vanish so it wouldnt strecth as bad Quote
