Cephkiller Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 In this thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180665109, Burley basically calls me crazy for saying that Vanish is more prone to backlashes than a limper line. Does anyone else find that fluoro is more trouble than mono? Or am I just crazy? I think I know the answer, but I'd like to see everyone else's thoughts on it. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted June 6, 2007 Super User Posted June 6, 2007 IME line that coils backlashes worse wether its trilene XT or big game... limper line dont backlash as much then again it depends on the weight of the lure >line that comes off the spool curly backlashes worse then .BTW talkin about line i have been using power pro in 6 lb test size on my baitcasters with great results no dig in, less backlashes i find im using it more then my biggame and Maxx and the 4 lb stuff works really good on my spinning reels only thing is its hard as ever to get the line through the loop to tie it ..OOOOOOOOOO and when u put crazy glue on ur knot becareful cause it sticks really fast to plastic worms and such and leaves ur hands a mess 8-) Quote
tyleraugello Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 Well you soudn right to me .. i use suffix and have no problems with my casting reels Quote
Super User burleytog Posted June 6, 2007 Super User Posted June 6, 2007 I didn't call you crazy. Sorry you thought so. :-? All I said was that in my experience, I haven't found line to be a factor in backlashes. That said, I haven't found flouro to be that much stiffer than mono. Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 6, 2007 Super User Posted June 6, 2007 You are right Ceph, I have my Alphas Itö spooled with 12 lb Big Game, I have my Alphas Type F spooled with 12 lb CXX, if I do something stoopid ( like lifting the thumb too much ) while the spool is rotating with the Type F, wohoo !, haven 't reached the point of backlash but it was very close. Both lines are 12 lbs, both have almost the same diamter, but CXX ( copoly ) is stiffer than Big Game ( nylon ). CXX is not fluoro but it 's coated with fluoro. Quote

Cephkiller Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 haven 't reached the point of backlash Hey! No need to brag. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted June 7, 2007 Super User Posted June 7, 2007 line is a major factor in backlashes.braid backlashes the least followed by limp mono.flouro used to be the worst but seguar invizx is changing that.the worst casting line i have ever used was the old formula vanish followed by cajun red lightning mono.the best casting mono i ever used is cajun red cast.
