Good to see Garcia is covering the entire price spectrum with these new reels.  I'm hoping they come out with a few of these or the Revo's in a 4.7 or 5.0 gear ratio for crankbaits.

still gotta figure out why they put centrifugal brakes on the inshore.  that's the big mystery on the TT forums.

I think I'll wait til they come out with a nice magnetic.  I personally feel really uncomfortable having to tinker with centrifugals

Im pretty excited too, especially for some of the lower end stuff that I can put on those techniques I dont use that often.  That and even the newer lower priced reels are lighter than the current line of Revos.  Would love the new premier but thats alot of money to pay for something that takes a good beating.

The article doesn't say but I'd suspect that the "Max" series are composite framed given their features and price points.

Seems like it would be but can you amagine them being aluminum ,ive read a few diff articles about bearings and after 4 all your getting is smoother it dont really enhance casting  performance .You can only fit so many bearings into a spool  .Id like to see um made of metal .Another thing do these lower end ones have magnetic braking also ,i think it said these reels are the same as the rest except the bearing count

it says all the "max" series reels have all the same features the only difference is bearing count...but i dont think the "max" series reels are the same as the "premeir"

The Premier will have a different handle, lighter but with no ball bearings.

I just got my Revo Crazy Cranker 4.9:1 and I can't wait to get it wet. I have been waiting for a good lefty low speed reel for a long time.

Probably udgrade it first.

I can't remember if it's "official" from Abu-G or not but, lots of folks are using STX's for inshore and other salty water fishing - I plan to use mine that way.   And, the STX has a super-sweet magnetic system!   I'm like you - I hate centrifugals!   I'm fishing a Citica right now that has 2 of the brake puck thingies missing because I popped them off while trying to adjust the reel in a fast moving boat.  I'm one of those guys who will always find a way to loose itty-bitty pieces.  ;-)

It would be great to see some of those STX features trickle down the price range.  I have a Revo S, also.  I love it but the STX was well worth price difference and I have never been bothered by the weight.
