Which baitcasting reel would you guys say is the best between the Abu Garcia Revo SC, Shimano Citica, and the Pflueger President.  This reel will be used for spinnerbaits mainly.  Thanks.

There is no BEST only favorites.

I have seen reports on all three of the reels you listed here.

They all will do the job depending on the gear ratio you want for spinnerbaits....

All the guys that have a fvorite brand are probably going to recommend the reels that compny sells!

I appreciate your guys response.  It looks as if I can't really go wrong with either one of those choices.  I will give them all a good inspection at the store and choose my favorite.  Thanks again.

When you do look at them at the shop, take the rod you intend to use and mount the reel's on it for feel...The you'll know for sure which is the best for you..

I have two Curado's and one Citica and I LOVE them. The Curados are 7:1 and 5:1 and my Citica is 6:2:1 ...I bought a Quantum accurist and returned it, it didnt feel as good as the Shimano's. Like most things its personal preference. People always ask me " Whats Cingular's best phone? " There is no best phone, just different features. However, some are better quality than others, and this is my opinion of Shimano's. That just an opinion though, im not an expert. Hope this helps.

i've just used the citica because my cousin owns one. I have a pflueger trion but im sure the president feels better. But i like the citica over the trion (dont know if it helps u). The curado is real nice, its one of my favorites for the money.

I love my Shimano Citicas, but I must admit, the guys on here with the Revos are falling all over themselves to tell everyone how great they are.  If, after a few years, the Revos hold up well I may try one myself.  Right now, I know the Citicas are going to last a good long time.

I just recently bought a Shimano Citca and love it.  Great reel to replace the price tag of the new Curados

I'm not sure about the Revo's but Reel Mech's service is highly regarded on this site. Pfluegers are proprietary and he doesn't repair them ( double check with him). In your price range it could have an impact in my price range it doesn't so much. I own Pflueger ans Shimano spinning and they are both very nice quality.

I swear I want to create my own rod and reel company named BEST.  Forum boards would lock up around the country, lol.

Best advice is to take the rod you want to put it on and try each of the reels on it, your body will tell you the answer.

Good luck.

I own a Citica and a Revo S and actually prefer the Revo by quite a bit.  However, that is saying more about the Revo and is not a knock on the Citica.  Really couldn't believe it myself. I like my Citica too so as many have already said it is really personal preference.

....and the Shimano posse doesnt do that huh? Good one!  ;D That post is a perfect example of hypocrisy at its best.

I agree with Reelmechanic and others that the comments re reel brands are personal preferences. I have Daiwa's, Shimano's, Pflueger's, Quantum's and BPS's and like them all. Those with similar features and cost perform alike. Pick what feels the best to you on the intended rod and don't look back.

I do prefer an external adjustment but that's not a show stopper either since I have both external and internal adjustable reels and use them about equal amounts.

I have a Revo SX and love it. I haven't used the other models you mentioned, but I wouldn't trade my Revo for anything.
