I bought a new Ambassadeur 6000 / Berkley Lightning Rod combo from walmart earlier today. I took it to my neighbors pond and tried it out. It works excellent. It throws very far, reels in perfectly and had no issues when I caught a small 1lb bass. The only problem that I had with the reel is the drag is kind of hard to set. When I changed from worm to spinnerbait I changed the drag and it's hard to turn the little knob on the side. Is this a serious issue (any reason I should exchange it?) If so this would be the third time and I'm getting tired of exchaning the same reel.

1st time the handle was bent.

2nd time it was in a car accident and something happened to it (wally world doesn't know about it though)

Do you think some oil would loosen it up?

Thank You,

-Taylor

Sounds like the rubber O-ring has dried out. But could be cross threaded.

Back off the cap to about 2 threads before it comes off, drop a couple of drops of the oil that came in the reels box onto the O-ring and the threads, then tighten the cap down again, if this doesn't loosen the adjustment on it, then the cap was placed on cross threaded and you need to take the reel back and exchange it.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!
