I just got a shimano clarus spinning rod and I am having trouble keeping the reel on the rod. I have to retighten it every 7 or 8 casts, I was thinking of using loctite. I will probably return this rod for something better like a st. croix, is this a problem with st. croix rods like the premier?.

replica,

This is a perfect reason to take your reel with you when purchasing a rod. Not only to check for the feel of the whole system in your hand, but to see if the seat will hold the reel you intend to use.

good luck..

You're 100% on the money.  The reel I intended to put on this shimano rod is a 8 year old shimano reel so I figured it would be a natural fit.  In the future I will make sure they match up.  Thanks for the advice.
