Well, finally had the opportunity of fishing with one, a buddy purchased it recently and while he let me play a couple of hours with it I allowed him to play with my Alphas Itö  ;) . I liked the profile of the reel and the way it sits very low on the reel seat, even though heavy it 's quite comfortable and easy to palm, casts well the regular 1/4-3/4 oz baits but not the best small bait caster, not silky smooth but smooth enough, feels well built but not "refined", good powerful drag; good reel for the price and a quantum leap from those lousy EONs & Törnos, now the only question remaining is how durable it 's going to be.

I don't know about the "S" model, but I've had an SX for three weeks and I love it. The only problem with it is I want more, and have to wait a while before I can get more.

I have six of the round  reels (various models) and if this one is as durable as the round reels, it is a GEM.

I own a few of each model of the Revo lineup and would recommend ANY of them. I feel like the SX is probably the best overall deal but with the STX you can really launch baits across the lake. I'm glad I decided to try the Revo's.....just wish they made a 5.1:1.

How noticeable do you think the difference is between the SX and the STX, accuracy and distance wise?  I've been wondering this for a while, and I haven't heard much from people who have em both.

Also, I've read a couple customer reviews sayin that the brakes on these things are REALLY light (I think everybody's used to centrifugal).  What's your opinion here?  Only for the experienced?

I have the STX and all I can say is WOW!!!!! ;). I wish I could afford more of them. They are smooth, eaisily adjustable, and can take a beating.
