I have a 6'10" MH finesse jig Falcon Cara that works just fine for me (about 140 bucks). I haven't tried a whole bunch of rods to give you a good comparision.I went from Wallyworld rods to that. I also have a7'MHF StCroix Tournament that would be my favorite all around rod but it was a little over 200 dollar range.

Loomis mbr843c IMX

Same here I have 3 of them and love 'em.

I have both the St. Croix Avid and the Loomis MBR843 IMX, funny that they are both rated MH, but the Avid is a much more powerful rod. I'm not sure which one is the most sensitive, but the Avid is my frog rod and has been replacing the Loomis as my C-rig rod.

I have to throw my hat in the ring here for the Fenwick Techna AV. I own a few of them and my fishing partner uses only GLX's. He has told me he thinks the Techna is just as sensitive, but just a tiny bit heavier than a GLX.

guys,he said under $200.i have to say a johnny morris signature series.then again an ugly stick with braid is more sensitive than an exspensive rod with mono.

If you want to feel a fish swim by or breathe on your bait......take your $200 bucks, put it in a sock, save up $29 more and get yourself a Kistler Helium LTA.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  I have four of them. ;)

I don't know guys, I would have to disagree.  The most sensitive rods in that price category from my seat of the pants use has to be a Fenwick Techna rod.

I would have to choose the Powell Max 683c which lists for $169, but then, I haven't tried every rod under $200 and I doubt if many of us have.  See the link below for a test on this rod from last year.  It received the editor's choice award from Tackletour.com.

Have you looked at Airrus?

Ultra XL model = UXLC681MH 6'.8" Fast Med Heavy 3/8 - 3/4 10 - 20 lb 1 $159.95 (and a better warranty than Loomis - Airrus only charges shipping cost for replacement if something happens).

Dodgeguy,

You keep saying that...  so why don't you use an ugly stick with braid?  You'd save a bunch of money.  ;D

My next question would be this:  you said in another thread, your own logs showed that you catch fewer fish on braid than mono and I know you use JM rods, so how do you keep coming to the conclusion that braided line and johnny morris rods are so great?

I asked the second question in complete sencerity and hope you take a minute to answer...

I really like both my St Croix Avid 7' MH and I just got a Powell Max 703c which is also very nice. I'm sure all the rods mentioned here would serve you very well. Specific choices mostly depend on personal preference.

That is the best answer you will get.  Kistler rods are the best IMO

you are making some serious assumptions here wrongfully.just because i said an ugly stick with braid is more sensitive than a great rod with mono doesn't mean i love ugly sticks.it means the no stretch of the braid is a much bigger factor in sensitivity than the rod.an ugly stick is way to heavy for me and not my style.a good rod with braid is even more senstive.

yes i caught fewer fish on braid.that doesn't change the fact that when talking sensitivity braid is the winner hands down.like i have stated i'm not sure if line visibilty really had anything to do with catching fewer fish or if i just had an off year.this year i am trying seguar invizx flouro to see what happens.i know i have previuosly said i hated flouro but that was until i tried this line.if i don't catch more fish on it this year it's back to the braid.if i do i may use braid and a flouro leader to get the best of both worlds.this i have not decided yet.

as far as johnny morris rods go yes i do believe they are as good as any other top end rod imho!!!i'm saving $ to get the new elite series with the recoil guides.
