wagn Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 anyone ever try this bait. There was one at Dick's and i picked it up last night, mostly just because it looks good. Thanks bait-monkey. Decided to finally try something in the swimbait range. Anyone have any experiance with this particular bait? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=90535&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Quote
wagn Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 No help on this bait huh? Maybe i'll just have to do work with it for awhile and post a review myself. Quote
jwo1124 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Sorry, I have never tried this lure, but it does look good. I think it will be a good lure for high sunny sky days when bass are picky. The only thing I don't like about htis lure is that it has too many hooks on it. i think the bottom treble is good, but I don;t see the need for the big hook on top. Just my opinion though, maybe it's useful. It just seems like overkill. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 It looks very nice, but I have heard that more often than not you get one that will not swim correctly, on its side or something. I do not purchase storm baits as a rule because I have found the quality to be total junk. Quote
wagn Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 What hook on top? i've heard some bad stuff about storm, but this bait looked to be made well. Once i get out this weekend i'll give it a try, and at least give a preliminary review Quote

Super User .dsaavedra. Posted September 13, 2007 Super User Posted September 13, 2007 i bought one of these along with a kickin minnow from BPS. the slab looks great and appears to be very durable (unlike the minnow, caught a snapping turtle and it broke ). that minnow had some great action, but with action comes durability. this kickin slab sure is tough, but it lacks in action. i only fished with it very breifly, but from what i found you need to reel kinda fast to get it to have the desired action. even then, the "joint" in it is pointless. it results in extremely little or no added action. i didnt catch anything on it but like i said i only fished it a few minutes. it sure does look great though! i have it in bluegill. i'd like to fish it some more soon while the fish are feeding up. PS, theres no top hook, youre probably thinkin of the storm wildeye live series. they have a top hook and a trebel (i always take the trebel off...more snaggless) Quote
wagn Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 i actually had gone to dicks to pick up some of the kickin minnows, but they were all out so i decided to try the slab instead Quote
jwo1124 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 my mistake guys, every other one of those lures has a hook poking out of the top of it except the crappie imitator. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat601348&rid=&indexId=cat601348&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=3&parentType=index&parentId=cat601348&id=0037360 My apologies Quote
