BigBen09 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hey what is the difference in the Bearings, i am getting a new reel and i am new to fishing in away. i have the choice of 3+1 or 4+1 what is the difference? Quote
hi_steel_basser Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Name the reels. The quality of the bearings is more important than the number of bearings, IMO. The old Shimano Curados were only 4+1, but they were good bearings. Quote
patbfishing123 Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Generally the more bearings the smoother the reel with be. But i agree with hi_Steel_basser... quality is more important some brands such as shimano make more efficient and smooth bearings then say zebco. Quote
BigBen09 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 ok good the reel i am thinking about going with is the Shimano Citica Baitcast Reel. What do yall think about this reel? Quote

BigBen09 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 ok one more ?, like i said i am new to fishing so i was wondering what would be best for me the 6.2:1 or the 5.2:1 or is it all just preference? Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 If you are using it to throw cranks go with the lower 5.2:1 otherwise the 6 to 1 is great Quote
BigBen09 Posted April 30, 2007 Author Posted April 30, 2007 what if i am going to be using a crank bait half of the time, should i still go with the 5:1 or should i still go with the 6:1? Quote
