Fishin Phil Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Any one have any experience returning a BPS rod that broke. Me and my buddy each have a broken extreme rod and neither have reciepts. I was gonna swing by on Wednsday to see if I could get them replaced, but just wanted to get an idea of what I'm looking at. Quote
Pa Angler Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I broke the tip off two of them and I mean I broke them off I returnrd them and they were replaced although mine was an online purchase I called and they sent a pickup slip as I remember it was about 5 years ago there was no BPS here in PA at that time. I'd take it back see if you can't get it replace. If you paid by credit card or check there's a record somewhere. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 one of the fellas I fished with at the Fork used my BPS rod as a spinner bait retriever and The second eye from the top had the insert come loose. I took it to BPS in Memphis, told them what happened, they took the Rod told me to go inside and get the same one new and come back to the Customer Service line, when I did they took all the tags etc off it handed me a slip with the date on it and said Sorry, now enoy the new rod. I didnt even have to telll the lie i was going to tell them Quote
Al Wolbach Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 BPS will normally replace a rod for 1 year from date of sale. They can tell the approximate age of the rod by looking at it. There is a letter/number after all of the rod info, line weight, lure weight etc. This is a code to identify the age of their rods. For example A6 would mean the rod was made in Jan,06 B7 would mean the rod was made in Feb, 07. C5 would mean Mar 05, etc. Hope this makes sense...........Al Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 24, 2007 Super User Posted April 24, 2007 BPS is very good about replacing broken rods. If it's one of theirs, they will replace it, no questions asked. If it's not their brand, you'd best have a reciept. Cheers, GK Quote
Fishin Phil Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Thanks fellas. My buddies is pretty old and that is the one I think they might be on the fence about. We'll see how it goes. Quote
TxBuddha Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 BassPro is usually pretty good about exchanges. I broke a Shimano Compre, didn't have a receipt, and they took it back with no questions asked. Normally if you don't have a receipt they will give you a store credit, if you have a receipt they will refund your money or issue store credit. Quote
