NaterD Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Here Yee, Went out this weekend in the middle of the day this weekend, water was pretty warm for West Michigan. Nothin was really goin so i decided to strap on a lipless I bought when i went to guntersville last year. Slammed 3 in a row! I've spent a lot of time with lipless cranks such as rattlers and all but havn't had success except for saturday. I found that most of my fish came on the fall... Is this typical for you guys? I've been ''burnin'' it pretty fast too, how fast is too fast for these things? and how often do you guys turn to a lipless... i've just been using em in deeper water in hot weather. Any tips are greatly appreciated. prayers for all on Sept. 11 Quote
Branuss04 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 A majority of my lipless fish have been on the fall.... come to think of it, a lot of fish I catch come on the fall with any lure I use. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted September 12, 2007 Super User Posted September 12, 2007 it's to fast if it comes out of the water.burning over weedbeds works great at times. Quote
TournyFish001 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 the most versitle bait in the tackle box- any retrieve will work depending on what the fish want- I will burn them and other times I will fish them like a jig off the bottom. Quote
Shad_Master Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 The "most" success I have had with lipless CB's has been in the spring when I would crash 'em into the weeds and then yank 'em out. I usually got bit on the yank. But they do work pretty much all year round. The best thing about 'em is that you can pretty much fish 'em at all depths and speeds. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 12, 2007 Super User Posted September 12, 2007 Around timber I like to run them just fast enough to get the rattle working. Across the tops of weeds I use a moderate to fast retrieve. In deep water I let her sink down to the bottom. Quote
