I would love to buy some of these to replace my Japanese reels becuase I'm BIG on Buy American.  Two things have to happen first IMO, they need to be proven by someone else over a couple years use and they need the fugly removed and a more modern design used.   Like I said, my opinion.  big

It is not to much difference in design from my Shimano as far as I can tell.

I bought one a couple week ago just to see if the stuff my fishing buddy was telling was true.  I have fished it hard for several weeks and it seen to be a great reel.  Only time will tell about how well it will stand up.

Thats a hard price point to break in at.  They have some serious competion for a $250 casting reel. We all have favorite brands but I think we can all agree that at $250 for a casting reel you can already get at least 10 different reels to fit any style of fishing that are already proven and reliable.  Oh, and I think it's ugly too.  That thing looks like it belongs in 1988.
