ejtaylor822 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 What knots do you all use for drop shotting? I was thinking a Palomar for the hook to the line then another Palomar, or, cinch on the weight. Read where the hook should be almost horizontal/perpindicular to the line. Just curious what others might be doing. Thanks, Eddie Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 3, 2007 Super User Posted April 3, 2007 I use the palomar and run the line down through the hook eye. This will allow the hook to hang perpendicular to the line. I don't tie the weight. I use Bakudan sinkers which I make. Quote
Garnet Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 san diago jam knot good enough for arron martins good enough for me. Garnet Quote
Captain Cali Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Palomar. Never failed. I don't tie the weight on. I use drop shot weights which just slide/clip onto the line. When it gets snagged, I just pull on the line and the weight "drops". Slide/clip on another weight and you are back in business in a matter of seconds. Quote
justfishin Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 First of all, I use drop shot weights, usually in 1/8oz. Secondly, I tie a Palomar but, the only thing I do different is I pass the initial loop through the eye twice. Its seems to give the hook angle a little more substance to keep it in the traditional drop shot manner. Quote
