Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted April 1, 2007 Super User Posted April 1, 2007 First off, forgive me Shimano Posse, for I have sinned. I bought my first non Shimano reel in quite a few years. After switching over all my old Curados to the newer 100 size ones and a Scorpion MG, my 200B5 I had left for cranking felt awkward. I wanted to stay with Shimano, but they don't offer a lower gear ratio 100 size reel in the under $150 range. I would have to go up to a Chronarch and I just can't justify spending that kind of $$$ on a technique specific reel at the moment. So I did some research and I settled on a Team Daiwa Advantage 150P. So far so good. The only problem I see is the line capacity. If I load it up with 10 lbs line, it will hold probably close to 200 yards . I don't need that and that's wasting a lot of line when at the most I will only use the first 75 yards or so. I know I could use some backing, but I just don't like that much line on there period. I see the Super tuned version has a bit shallower spool and it will probably hold somewhere around 150 yards. That's getting a little better. Is that compatible?? Any other shallower aftermarket spools that will fit it that don't cost an arm and a leg?? Thanks Quote
