The_Natural Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 My reels are going to be sent off for a custom paint job before I even take them out of the box. I'm having 2 painted red, 2 painted yellow, and two painted metallic black; they will look identical to the TD-Z custom of 2004. I'm not trying to fool anyone; I just like a more colorful reel .Here are the colors I have chosen... Nice! Who does the paiting for you? Can they anodize as well? The guy I'm thinking of paints a lot of RC car bodies, and he is out of Tulsa, OK. If you want anodizing, I would just search google. I'm not sure how much it will cost me, but I imagine $20 or so a reel, considering they will be only one color each...no fancy airbrush work. Quote
The_Natural Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Hehe...over 20 TD-Z's were ordered just from this thread ;D 8-) Quote
Hot n Tot Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Hehe...over 20 TD-Z's were ordered just from this thread ;D 8-) And I just decided to order a 2nd one! I don't think my wife will understand why I need two of these. :-X Quote

The_Natural Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 I'm excited now, not only about the reels I have coming in, but for everyone else as well. How many of you haven't fished with a TD-Z before? Will this be your nicest reel? I own modified Alphas, Scorpions, Mg50's, Pixies, Zillions, and two TD-Z's (now 6 I guess ). The only reels I have that compare to the TD-Z's are my Pixies. I think some of you will be blown away by this reels performance. We will have to start another thread when everyone has theirs. Quote
Bushwacker Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I ordered one too. I am a little excited to say the least, the most expensive reel I have ever bought before this is a Pflueger President, so I am thinking I will be a little impressed by the TD-Z Quote

Welcome to the majors! Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 29, 2007 Super User Posted March 29, 2007 I think not many have fished with a TDZ, let 's face it, 350 bones for a reel is a good ammount of dough for the everyday Joe, most people have not even broke in the 200 bones mark, but at 200 no reel available in the 200-260 marc today even comes close to a TDZ. If you want something better you are not going to find it at that price ever. If only Pixies had a stronger stock drag :-/ ( sigh ) but upgrading the washers on a Pixy is possible. The mean red pastel mattè fishing machine. ;D Quote
c_diesel2 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 What are the gear ratio on these reels??? It dosent say on cabela.com????? Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 This is what I found on the gear ratio of these reels TD-Z105H Gear Ratio 6.3:1 TD-Z103P Gear Ratio 5.1:1 TD-Z105HL Gear Ratio 6.3:1 This is from Daiwa's web site, so I assume this is correct. Quote
c_diesel2 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I thought shipping was free...I had to pay 12.95 >.....I bought 4 of them also ....good looking out on the deal ;D Quote
Fishing Doug Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have 2 TD-Z 100M's already and I love them. I actually got lucky and picked them up for $199 each at my local BPS when they were depleting the stock last fall. I originally bought Citica's and those went right to the shelf..and then right to EBAY. Don't get me wrong, the Citica's are reels, but in an entirely different ballpark than the TD-Z's. The light weight has spoiled me. When I pick up my fishing partner's Curado 200, it feels like a paperweight.... Just wish they would have come out with a 7.0 to 1 ratio.......... Love the TD-Z's. Pond Hopper Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I have been fighting the temptation all day, I just recently ordered a new Revo S and Revo SX and dont know that I need another. Although its gonna be tough to resist that deal. Quote
The_Natural Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Hmmm...I didn't get charged shipping. My order total both times was $399.98. Did you choose a shipping method other than ground? Other than that...I'm not sure why :-/ Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 29, 2007 Super User Posted March 29, 2007 NAH NAH NAH NAH NOT GONNA LISTEN!!! Quote

The Dude Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I picked up a couple of them. I had to pay shipping on the TDZ103P, but not on the 105H. Doesn't make sense, but oh well, still a great price on a great reel! Quote
anthony6377 Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Shipping is showing up for me when I'm trying to order the 103 as well. All well, it's not going to stop me from taking advantage of this deal. I would purchase a couple more, but I'm a poor college student who is also saving up for a new car. <Edit> I think the reason there is a shipping cost on the 103 and not on the 105 is because the 105s are being shipped directly from Japan whereas the 103s are in stock and being shipped from warehouses in the US. RockvilleMDAngler Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Having just bought a new Chronarch (which is supposed to arrive tomorrow) I don't think I can justify this but I REALLY want to pull the trigger.... MUST BE STRONG!!!!! :-/ Quote
hi_steel_basser Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I pulled the trigger. Now I need a good c-rig or swimbait rod to put it on. The bait monkey is devious. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 30, 2007 Super User Posted March 30, 2007 My will power gave out and I went to Cabelas to order one. Get there and they're sold out of the 105H. :'( Somewhat of a blessing and a curse. Quote
