All Purpose rod?

Ive been looking for a all purpose rod and most are certain techinqe like worm,spinerbait,crankbait etc. Im looking for a good all purpose rod in the $100 price range. im going to be putting a Team Daiwa advantage super tuned on it.

Sorry, but IMHO there is no such thing. Many rods can come close but always leave a few of the techniques out.  

I would suggest making a list of the techniques that you think you will be using this season. Then try to narrow that list down even tighter to the most used. From that list you can get a sense of what techniques your rod needs to cover.

Just a thought, worked for me before I started building..

thanks reel mech. im probaly going to be using it for cranks/spinnerbaits/buzzbaits/jigs/ pretty much everything but finess i have a spinning reel and rod for that

I hate to tell you, but you aren't gonna get a rod sensitive enough for jigs and soft enough for crankbaits. If you are fishing mostly jigs and spinnerbaits, get a mh/mf rod. It will cast cranks, but it just won't be as good as a med action. Get the best you can afford, I'd go with 6'6" if you are trying for more accuracy and 7' if you are trying to launch it.

It's going to tough to find one rod that will do everything perfectly. But I do think that it is possible to find one rod that will serve for several different applications. I used to fish with just two rods for years, and did just fine, thank you very much.

Team Daiwa Light & Tough rods. I have two of them, and the 7' Medium is a pretty versatile stick. it's $120, a little over your asking range, but I think these rods are some of the best values out there.

that depends on which of those you do the most.  a MH/fast will word fine for all but the crank.  but if cranks aren't your "go to" technique and you just occasionally throw them it will be fine.  

i would say get a MH because i think it is more versatile especially if you throw jigs and soft plastics

If you are fishing jigs and cranks with the same rod, I would go with a 7ft Med-Hvy with a fast tip.

You can do all your fishing with a Medium Power/ Fast Action rod. However, if you can afford two rods, a Fast Action, firm tip is preferred for soft plastics and jigs; Moderate Action or a soft tip is generally preferred for all classes of treble hook lures.

I use one baitcaster and one spinning rod to catch 98 percent of the fish I catch. My favorite all around baitcaster is a Falcon Original MH 7' rod My favorite all around spinning rod is a Bass Pro Bionic Blade M 7'. Both of these rods will fish most baits well. The Falcon has enough backbone to fish jigs in Heavy cover but has enough flex down the blank to fish crankbaits. I looked at a bunch of rods to find these all around type of rods since I am limited in space on my boat. Now that I am used to using these for everything I wouldn't change even if I did have the space.
