Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Hey Fellas Road Warrior deputized me by giving me a Shimano Stradic 1000 spinning reel WHICH REALLY BLEW ME AWAY!!!!!! So I mooked a member of the posse and gave hime A Pflueger President #35 So we are all now in the same league with 2 different divisions now : Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 What's the over/under on Muddy buying up all things Shimano in the Flea Market over the next three months? ;D Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Actually Im thinkin of a Rick Clunn 5.3 to 1 gear ratio Bass pro Reel Quote

Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 Actually Im thinkin of a Rick Clunn 5.3 to 1 gear ratio Bass pro Reel Nah, get a Citica 200DPV or Curado 200DPV. Embrace the light!!!! Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 embrace my pocket!!!!!!! I go back to classes this week got that thing they call tuition! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 $80 for the Clunn, $120 for the Citica. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 $80 for the Clunn, $120 for the Citica. $100 for the Citica http://www.deloscustomtackleshack.com/reels/shimanocitaca.html My only gripe with Shimano is they don't offer a 100 size lower gear ratio reel in the Citica or Curado line. After switching all my other reels to 100 size my CU-200B5 I have left for cranking feels like a tank. I might be forced to go with a Daiwa Advantage . What is the world coming too. ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 26, 2007 Super User Posted March 26, 2007 That is a good deal KS. I've been thinking about upgrading my cranking reel and that price certainly fits the bill. Quote
Bud Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I lay odd by the end of summer he will be a full fledge menber of the posse. He will be throwing rocks at brand X. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Dang, RW hooked you up. Not only with a Shamano but one of the best ones. That is awsome. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 To become a member of the Shimano Posse only requires one reel. We have a "big tent" and everyone is welcome... even if you sometimes fish the "wrong" brand! : Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 There are no wrong reels only the ones I cant afford HAHAHAHA ;D Quote
TrickyVT1887 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 After all of the the arguing about reel brands you finally pick up a Shimano congrats Muddy Quote
Super User Dan: Posted March 27, 2007 Super User Posted March 27, 2007 There are no wrong reels only the ones I cant afford HAHAHAHA ;D ahaha, ain't that the truth, muddy. As a full time college student, I feel lucky to have my Pflueger Medalist. It is really my ONLY setup I have that is of any quality. You guys are all talking about wanting new rods and reels and whatnot but for people like me, I'd like to be able to get just a second quality rig, not a 5th or 6th!!!! :'( Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Ya you right! This is my only hobby and I have been blessed to get some mid priced suff now mind you I have 2 BPS reels One Cabelas One Pflueger and the Reel RW gave me.a Shimano Quote

Super User 5bass Posted March 28, 2007 Super User Posted March 28, 2007 That true but their is only one great reel SHIMANO Muddy, dont be a victim of the brainwashing that goes on inside the posse......fight thru it man, there's just alot of hype around certain brands. Quote
MitchIsFishin Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Congrats, Muddy, that's a fine reel. RW, that was a very generous gesture. Enjoy it. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 i BUY ONLY WHAT I CAN AFFORD. iF A DEAL COMES UP IN THE FLEA MARKET FOR SOMETHING USED THEN I GO FOR IT. i HAVE A bps EXTREME rOD AND REEL THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH AND WORKS JUST FINE. iT WOULD BE SILLY TO SAY ITS AS GOOD AS A 500 REEL AND A lOOMIS rOD BUT iM HAPPY WITH IT!
