Captain Cali Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 PLine CXX is my current favorite. I have total and complete confidence in the line. I too am currently trying fluorocarbon (Triple Fish) right now. Haven't used it enough yet to say if I like it or not. Quote

I have total and complete confidence in the line.I too am currently trying fluorocarbon (Triple Fish) right now. Haven't used it enough yet to say if I like it or not. I have been fishing Pline CXX for 3 years, and have never broken off a fish while using this line. Abrasion resistance and tensile strength are through the roof. I think people complain about the memory of it too much...I don't think it is bad at all in the 15lb and under ratings. Quote

PLine CXX is the first line I tried when I started bass fishing. I keep going back because it never fails. Memory is hardly an issue for me with lighter line. The 20 and 25lb I use for swimbaits are a different story. I use it from 2lb up to 25lb. Great line! Quote
Deuceu72 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Easy one.............Seaguar Invisxxx ;D ;D ;D Quote
BassPonder72 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Stren original 10lb for spinning and stren duratuf 12-14 for casting. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I use Cabela's Pro Line no difference in performance from Stren. which is what I used to use For the spinning rig I am trying Yozuri on RW's reccomednation Quote
Gary D. Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 I like the Yo-Zuri Hybrid for Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, Rattlebaits, because it's so strong and I can use lighter lines and not give up on strength For spinning I usually use Bass pro Excel or Cabela's proline in clear blue fluoresent so I can see it better Quote
mferris Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 i keep trying different lines but end up going back to trilene sensation,i had a bad experiance with vanish a few years ago and have never tried or will try another fluorocarbon line Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 18, 2007 Super User Posted January 18, 2007 The looooonnnnnggggg search is over. After trying what seemed to be every line on the market the last few years I have found Gamma Copolymer. I found other lines I liked, but this is the one I love and now use it for everything except my one braid rig which currently has Power Pro but with all this talk about Sufix braid I am going to give that a try this year. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 19, 2007 Super User Posted January 19, 2007 I like Trilene XL for mono, and Spiderwire stealth for braid, I also like Trilene sensation and plan on using it more this year, and also just bought some Spiderwire ultracast braid. We have had mild winter so far so I tried the new spiderwire out shortly after I bought it.......I liked it alot, in fact I will be replacing the stealth I use with it on a "trial" basis to see how I like it on a day in day out basis. Lines I hate.........Vanish.......too many problems with it to list, and beleive it or not I am one of few who disliked Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra soft. I tried 6lb on my spinning gear, and 10lb on my casting gear. It was way to stiff, killed the action of smaller baits, and had terrible memory on spinning gear. I gave it a fair shot too, I used it for about 6 weeks before I had enough. It was not as bad as Vanish for me, as I liked it's abrasion resistance, knot strength, and low visability, but I just felt it handled poorly. I tried Power pro once, was not overly impressed to switch from the lower cost stealth, and actually found it to be less durable than stealth, it did seem to handle the same, but I just never felt comfortable with it. ksdog Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I have 4lb yo zuri ultra soft that I no longer use except as backing on my spinning reels. At this point trilene sensation in 6 and 8lb test for spinning reels and 10lb yo zuri hybrid on all my baitcasters. Just put some suffix 6lb braid on two crappie reels and am liking it over power pro 10/2. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 19, 2007 Super User Posted January 19, 2007 P-Line Floroclear 15 lb and 10 lb 50 lb Power Pro and 20 lb Sufix Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 19, 2007 Super User Posted January 19, 2007 ww2farmer, This isn't personal and I am NOT sonsored by Yo-Zuri, but if the Ultra Soft had ANY memory, you spooled it up incorrectly. Ultra Soft, especially in the smaller diameters, has virtually NO memory in use. If there is a problem with memory, it will be 100% resolved by trolling the line after the initial spooling. When fishing #12 on baitcasting equipment, I have one complaint. Because of the fluorocarbon component, backlashes create kinks that appear to impact the physical integrity of the line. I don't know that this is actually the case, but visually, it bothers me. The fact is, I have been fishing several spools of #12 for almost a year without a single break-off. I fish #4 on the Tennessee River for smallmouth bass. Both fish in my avatar were caught on #4. I have NEVER been broken off by a fish using this line. I have NEVER been broken off by a fish using ANY Yo-Zuri line. Quote
