Don't want to hear no durned giggling in the background ;D! I have been fishing the same name brand (Stren 8 and 12 lb.) mono for so many years, I feel like I know how it is going to act in almost any given situation...

Berkley XT, Berkley Vanish, and Berkley Fireline. I have used other lines, but there is something about Berkley that keeps it on my reels. Been using it for as long as i can remember and cant picture using any thing else exclusively.

Well, for the last twenty years I've used Trilene XL. I've tried other lines, but I always come back to good old XL. I haven't found anything I like as much.

Like Roadwarrior (and several others in this forum), I like Yo-zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft and have it on 3 out of my 4 BC reels.  I tried the Tectan Premium Plus mono last weekend (for my deep-diving crankbait set-up) and it seems to be a good line also, although I should fish it several times more for an accurate evaluation.

If I had to be stuck with only one line it would be either P-Line CX Premium, or P-Line Evolution.

just wondering...

how many of you guys have tried Gamma and if you have did not like it?

In my opinion it is the bes line out there(i dont get payed a penny to say that).  I work at Gander Mountain and i have tried every line on our wall and nothing even comes close to the breaking strength, suppleness, and sensativity of gamma line.  and even though gamma's breaking strength is nearly double its diameter size it is the same diameter as all of the berkley lines.

thanks,

ben

Used power pro the last two years, but this year I'm using Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft this year.  I guess I have to find out what everyone has been talking up so much.

If you go with braid, I have used Spiderwire, Fireline, Stren Superbraid and Powerpro and I like the Stren best by far.  I haven't tried Suffix yet, but I have heard good things about it.

I'm trying the Gamma copolymer now too Ben.  I'm on about my sixth spool of 12 and 14 lb test.  I like the strength but not as much as the P line I was using.  I like the low memory, I like the abrasion resistance, I like the price/rebate thing they have on now.  $7.88 a roll at my local Academy and buy two get one free coupon to boot.
