grid Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 It has been 15 years or so since I owned a baitcaster. I have been using spinning reels. Well, I'm ready for another baitcaster. I like some input on a good reel and a good pole. There are so many out there I don't know where to start. In a graphite pole will a 6'6" med-heavy work as a good "all around" pole? Looking forward to your responce. Quote
Bionicman Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 What is your price range? 6'6 graphite is good all-around pole IMO If you are on a limited budget the BPS Extreme or Bionic are good for starters and are a very solid combo for the price JMO Quote
fischt1977 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I recently bought by first baitcaster, a shimano citica/BPS extreme 6'6" Medium heavy combo and am very happy with it. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Abu Garica Revo S and a St. Croix Premier 6'6" MF. Or match the Revo up with a Bionic Blade although I have never used one have heard good things about them. Quote

I have four of these and I am very happy with them. If you are patient, BPS usually has these on sale for $140 a couple times a year. Quote
