Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 15, 2007 Super User Posted March 15, 2007 I have the spinning version. All I can say is I don't use it much. Enough said. Quote
jdw174 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I've said this before and I'll probably say it again......Lightnin' Rods are one of the better buys in a budget-priced rod. However I've found that occasionally their ratings are a little on the light side. I.E. the rod actually fishes a bit stiffer than the given rating. I wouldn't buy one sight unseen, but if I found one in a store that I liked I wouldn't be afraid to buy it. Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 The new 2007 lightning rods are great for a budget priced rod, you can get them in FL for under $30. I use 6'6" MH Spinning Rod with a Guide Series Tournament Edition Spinning Reel. You can't beat a lightning rod for the price, and if you buy at wal-mart you can always take it back if anything happens to it. Quote
Rob G. Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I normally have a decent opinion of Lightening Rods, but not the Hank Parker series. I was given one, and I gave it away. That quick connect reel seat is a joke, it did not hold my reels snugly, and I tried a few. JMO. Quote
