Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Anyone ever held one of these? I'm wondering if the body is "slim profile" like the new BPS Extreme spinning reel? Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted February 3, 2007 Super User Posted February 3, 2007 I own one in the 2000 series. Not sure what you're referring to, but the BPS description of the Extreme makes it sound like it would be wider because of the spool width. If I remember, I'll try to get a side by side view when I got to BPS today. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Russ, I was going out today (saturday) to try and find one in person. Went to Quaker Lane yesterday, they don't carry Daiwa. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted February 3, 2007 Super User Posted February 3, 2007 OK, I'm back from BPS The display models were the Extreme 2000 and the Tierra 3000. The body of the Extreme was slimmer (not surprising given it was a 'smaller' sized reel), but the spool widths on these two were very close, despite being different sizes. Does that help at all? Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Yes, thanks. I am buying one for a rod Fletchero made me. Matt, looks like we are going to be twins, lol. I was just wondering because BPS extreme is boasting this new ultra slim body. The tienna looks very similar, was wondering just how slim it really was. Thanks for the feedback. Matt- you do realize, with a name like the one in your avatar that I will be coming up with nicknames for you 2 all summer. For now, we will start with Biscuit and triscuit. ;D Which one do you want to be? Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 ;D Cuz that's how we roll! That's what happens when you mix one part Foster and one part Burrilville. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 17, 2007 Author Posted February 17, 2007 Matt- Did you find any local? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 Reel came in, VERY nice piece for the money. Daiwa gave great attention to detail. I am kinda bummed that I spent $130 on a spinning reel and it didn't come with a felt travel bag. My $59 Pfluegers all did. Report/review (and hopefully pics) to follow from Fork. Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Matt- Did you find any local? Sorry 4 the late reply. I keep going down to Ericksons but they are always closed. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 8, 2007 Super User Posted March 8, 2007 Russ, I'll bring you a couple next week so everyone will think you bought the right brand. Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 9, 2007 Super User Posted March 9, 2007 Russ,I'll bring you a couple next week so everyone will think you bought the right brand. I'll bring the sharpie and we'll make it a real Daiwa bag!! ...lol How about a pic of the reel... some of us have a vested interest in the color. Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted March 9, 2007 Super User Posted March 9, 2007 You can't fish with a reel bag on I have the SOL, which is similar to the Tierra, and I FREAKING LOVE IT! Daiwa makes a fine spinning reel! Quote
