Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 7, 2007 Super User Posted March 7, 2007 I read somewhere they are very busy attending fishing shows and temporarily took their items off ebay until sometime this month. Quote

Super User Raul Posted March 7, 2007 Super User Posted March 7, 2007 There has been a lot of gossip around GinRinPeche e-bay store for the last couple of months, there have been rumors that GinRin is bankrupt and that it was selling it 's stock at those absurd prices in order to regain the money it had invested and pay it 's creditors, ¿ possible ? well GM is also technically bankrupt and it 's still operating isn 't it ? For what I know none of GinRin customers was left without the merchandise they purchased from them. Now let 's see, the on-line store was closed and reopened for vacation according to them, now it 's open but it says it 's under reconstruction but still you can order from them. The e-bay store had that banner that they were going to re-open in March 28 th with more and new items, now the store is closed. My take on the bankrupcy issue ? well, if I were bankrupt and I 'm trying to recuperate the money the last thing I would do is to close my most important source of sales when I still have a big bunch of stuff in the warehouse. It 's completely ilogical to do so. They still had lots of reels, rods and baits to sell and at those prices they closed sales everyday not only in the US but all around the world. It 's not the first time I 've seen an e-bay store closed and later re-opened, my beleif and my hope is that they are reorganizing the store, with that ammount of items it 's not an easy task, practically every item they had for sale had a picture, imagine how many pics they have to upload to the server . I hope they re-open the store, it 's not only the prices ( of course saving 20-100 dollars in one item sure is a deal ) but it 's the fact that they had items hard to find elsewhere, and for me, the way they shipped not only saved me money in the purchase of the items but also on import taxes I have to pay everytime I order tackle, you have no idea how much money I have to pay, add to that expensive shipping charges. reelon Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 So sad story. I hope that they reopen their ebay store, such good prices and good stuff. Quote

Bushwacker Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I emailed the contact info address on their website last Monday and haven't heard anything back yet. I have had great experiences with them in the past so I am really hoping they reopen, I am just a little nervous about ordering off of their website right now with messages like:WWW.GINRINPECHE.COM TO BE RENEWED Dear Members & Fishermen In order to provide you with better services, we are presently reorganizing our website. You will find the best of Japan fishing tackle soon ! (our E mail address: contact@ginrinpeche.com is still available.) Quote
scbassin Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I agree with Raul It's going to take time to re-build his site. I felt that he selling so cheap to recoup a lot of cash to purchase this years items to up grade his store. If he could buy in larger quanity he would probley get a better price & be able to sell cheaper than the rest. In December & January I up graded my reels. I bought 16 from him plus some tackle so I was on his site often & I can tell you he moved some product. I am sure he hurt the smaller dealers that were looking for the Christmas sales. It's like BPS coming to town a lot of the smaller tackle shops close. It might be that he is trying to corner the market. THAT'S MY GUESS. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Boy did I miss the bus, was planning on a couple of scorpion 1000s and when I went to pull the trigger no more store. Hopefully his prices stay the same when he re-opens. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 9, 2007 Author Super User Posted March 9, 2007 Something tells me they won't reopen. I hope that I'm wrong. Quote
