Does anyone have a cut-sheet or catalog from Shimano with the V-Rod specs in it?  I'm curious to find more info on them, seeing as how I keep buying them.  I've seen rods of the same length and weight/action/power ratings with different model numbers, and it slightly confuses me.  There's hardly any info on the net (that I've found) regarding them, either.  That really confuses me with the amount of "useless" info that is out there...

Jim, as you know they were a Limited Edition type deal. I have searched and searched and asked and asked but I guess alot of people just missed the boat on the V Rods altogether since it was such a short run. The only thing I know is that the V Rods were made by G Loomis for Shimano to put their name on and they evolved into the Shimano Crucial series. The different letters in the model # is actually referring to the taper of the particular blank, along with length and power. (ex. VCT610MH)......I think thats the one you got coming your way. Its a fast taper.

They are excellent quality rods, well built, well balanced and really light......not as light as a Helium LTA but not many rods are.

Thanks!  I wondered if there just weren't any cut-sheets made for them, which seems to be the case.  I've seen two identically spec'd rods in terms of length, lure rating and power, but one was VCT and the other VCA.  Since you've indicated the taper, I see now that the T and A (no pun intended) are referrring to it, albeit in a manner I don't quite yet comprehend.

I have a spinning V-rod that I use for crappie, and I swear I could feel them swim by...  The casting rods haven't been easy to find around here, so I've lucked out with your offering.

Someday I'll have to find a Kistler dealer and hold one of their rods.  I've heard nothing but good things.

Thanks for the help on the specs!

The nomenclature with the V-Rods made by Loomis in Washington State was that the "A" stood for Aggressive Taper and the "T" stood for Traditional taper...Thus, the rods fished that way also...I can attest to that truth as I was a collector of these rods and still fish them and collect them...They are only IM-6 graphite rods, but, my god, they are strong and light enough, especially after my handle modifications.  They started using the Fuji TCS seats and had no .blank contact.  Shortly after, they switched to the ECS seats and had blank contact...Mine are all TCS seats and thus I use them for spinnerbaits, chatter baits, frogs, buzz baits, etc where sensitivity is less important.  If your rod should happen to end with an "F", that means it was designed as a Inshore Flats Rod...I have one that is 7 1/2 feet long and quite parabolic.  I use it for freshwater live baiting...Good Luck...
