NHfroggin Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Im looking to get my fist good spinning rod and reel. All of my others have been from walmart. I am looking for a all purpose rod that is going to last. Im looking at spending under $200. If you could give me some sugestions that would be great. Thanks Bassmaster6 Quote
justfishin Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 If I were you and you wanted to step up a notch and keep it under two hundred bucks I would look at the BPS combos. A extreme rod and a Shimano or Pflueger or whatever your choice would be well within your price range and allow you a few more bucks to boot, to feed the bait monkey. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 This is my suggestion, from my experience. Give it some time a lot of others will respond and you should read all suggestions before buying MY Reccomendation MY SINGLE FAVORITE SPINNING RIG ROD 90.00 AND REEL 60.00 TOTAL 150 ROD; ST.CROIX PREMIER ONE PIECE 6'6" MED ACTION FAST TIP REEL; PFLURGER PRESIDENT THE 35 SIZE SWEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!! extreme1018 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 this might sound bad and ruin my reputaion but my favorite spinning outfit came from walmart. its a 40 dollar shakespeare outfit that came as a combo set. it it an 6'6" im7 rod and the reel that came on it has proven to be more reliable than some other reels that cost me 3 times as much. its been overboard twice. once in saltwater and rained on at least half a dozen times. i just spray it with some reel magic and its good as new. however if i had to but a new outfit i would get the quantum. the bail wire is somewhat flexible so if you happen to step on in your boat it wont be FUBAR Quote
RiskKid. Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I would go for a Shimano Symetre 2500 ($80) and the same rod Muddy Man suggested. Quote
