I will be going to the Bass Pro Classic next weekend and I would like to get your input. Would the Bionic Blade in the 7 ft. M action spinning make a good crankbait rod? I know they are on sale for $50.00. I need a crank rod in spinning.

Thanks :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

I have used Bionic Blade casting rods and found them very good.  I use a 6 1/2 foot medium action casting rod in Canada every year.  It is 2 piece so travels well.

I would expect the spinning rods to be good as well.  My advice would be to try to match whatever rod you can get with the type of fishing you will be doing, and with crankbaits, you want something a little soft on the tip compared to what you might use with fishing suspending jerk baits.

It is not as important that you have a Bionic Blade or an Extreme or a Loomis as it is that you match the action with what you want to do with it.

If I remember correctly, there are a lot of Bionic Blade options, so try to buy the one that best matches what you are going to be using it for.

i have to disagree with that.a good graphite rod in the right action and power is fine for crankbaits.it will be more sensative and weigh less than a fiberglass rod could ever be.

Thanks guys. I want to use it for small cranks and some top water.Maybe floating tubes also. You guys that have the Bionic rod, do you think I would be better off with a 7' M or ML action???? :-? :-? :-?

I have the 7' medium power rod on my baitcasting setup, and i love it. Its my all around rod, no specific techniques. I dont fish too many crankbaits, but it will work, its just that there are better options for specifically fishing cranks

OH BOY, I just did see that the BPS Extreme rods are on sale too.So which rod would be better for cranks the Bionic or the extreme in a 7' M action? :-? :-? :-? :-? :-?

I actually use a MH 7' Bionic Blade for my deeper diving crankbait and it works quite fine.  Though, if it were between the Extreme and Bionic Blade for crank, I would go with the Extreme, because they seem to have a little softer action to them compared to a Bionic Blade with the same power, which would be good for crankbaits.
