Hey,

I have never owned an okuma rod but I was looking at their x series bass casting rod. It seems to be built with high end components and i know okuma has been in the fishing game for a while. Does anyone have experience with this rod or okuma rods in general? Do they tend to be softer rods? Any input would be appreciated thanks

Steve

There are 2 open threads on here all about them.

Do a search as they were started not too long ago.

@BassSteve no worries, I haven’t fished mine yet since ice out was just a couple weeks ago and we’ve had snow and freezing rain since but initial impression it’s feather light so I can only assume it’s going to be extremely sensitive and a mainstay in my rotation. I’ve done a ton of research on Okuma and everything has been extremely positive from the bass guys who have them.

I have a few different Okuma rods, including a X Series. IMO, they fish very true to their ratings. The X series is one of the lightest rods I’ve ever fished with. It looks nice, and feels nice. I think especially if you’re looking for a rod for a heavier application, it is really noticeable. I have a 7’ 3” H/F, and it barely feels like anything in my hands.

Nice I was thinking about the 7' 3" medium rod for crankbaits or treble hook lures

I’ve said it before and ill say it again I love my 2 Okuma TCS-A series rods which are a bit more moderate than my Okuma EVX-B rod which I also love even being a bit faster in action.
