Super User A-Jay Posted March 24 Super User Posted March 24 Yup - Z-Man just introduced the Chatterbox Elite Evo Mini Max Seems it's a TW exclusive. Upgrades include the clip (using the regular JH Decoy Clip) and the Hook has been plus sized from 2 to 3. Perhaps my favorite move as I've always felt the original Mini Max hook was too small. https://youtu.be/XtRCnxaIo9E?feature=shared&t=371 As for a suitable trailer - How about the Yamamoto SLIM Zako ? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yamamoto_Slim_Zako_35_Swimbait/descpage-YZS.html I am liking this deal. Bait monkey just ate a slice of cold pizza and 2 smokes in a row after getting through with me on this one. A-Jay 12 2
Bass Rutten Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Me likey!!! As an aside, after trying many trailers I've found what has become my favorite minimax trailer, the missile baits ned bomb. Perfect body thickness and length right out of the package, great subtle fluttering tail action, and pretty durable too. 11 1
Super User casts_by_fly Posted March 24 Super User Posted March 24 @A-Jay - These lake fork magic shiners should be right up your alley also. Very similar profile and action to a zako, but they are a bit lighter in weight and a little more durable. The 3.5" is what I put on a minimax. This was a BR recco to me in the first place. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lake_Fork_Live_Magic_Shad_Swimbait/descpage-LFLMS.html?from=basres&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhYS_BhD2ARIsAJTMMQbltmrwqwzMzAOLhqHeQXIKoeHT6NptSzy8HPyelPlOYFbULAzGSS0aAtreEALw_wcB On 3/24/2025 at 12:02 PM, Bass Rutten said: Me likey!!! I have a few ned bombs for fishing on a ned setup but never considered them for a trailer. I bet they would be great as a finesse jig trailer as well. 2 1
JHoss Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I'm holding out for the Baby Jack to be released before I dump another paycheck into chatterbaits. 2 2

Did get a couple of the mini evos though. I'm in VA and they're projected to be here Thursday with standard shipping. Hopefully they are because they sure like to eat a mini max in the lake I'm fishing Saturday.
Fishingmickey Posted March 24 Posted March 24 56 minutes ago, Peacedivision said: They're out now, TW has them in stock Not in stock yet, I have 8 on back order from 3/20. Two of each, Brett's Bluegill, White, Chartruse/white and Golden Shiner. Supposed to be shipped beginning of April. Checking the TW website it appears they are now in stock. FM
Brian11719 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Almost gave in when I saw the email but told myself I need to use the couple of mini maxs I haven't even opened yet before I pick one up. My willpower seems to be holding so far but if they do another 20% off sale all bets will most likely be off. 1
Bandersnatch Posted March 25 Posted March 25 What is the difference between the baby jack and the minimax? 1
Super User A-Jay Posted March 25 Author Super User Posted March 25 12 minutes ago, Bandersnatch said: What is the difference between the baby jack and the minimax? Besides the cost difference, I'm hoping the Elite Evo Mini Max has a bigger hook. Getting conflicting info though. A BKK 3 is what I'm expecting to see once I get them in hand. If not, back they go. Super User NorthernBasser Posted March 25 Super User Posted March 25 Jackhammer and Baby Jack costs the same amount?

Functional Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:53 PM I'll buy some... I didnt know the baby jack existed though. Might pick up to of the evo mini max and 1 of the baby jack to compare. Honestly, I probably wont be paying jackhammer prices unless I notice a big uptick in bass. Maybe I'm dumb but my regular mini max chatterbaits start vibrating really fast. @Bass Rutten Thank you for that tip, I have a few bags of those and wanted something a bit meatier than the zoom split tails I've been using on my minis. Fits the bill.
