Guess this is like the double negative rule that turns it into a positive? I would've figured it would be the ol "two wrongs don't make a right". 1 1 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted 18 hours ago Super User Posted 18 hours ago No way. Each bait is a little bit different. Quote
SpinLight Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago For light tackle spotted bass fishing, I could almost get by with Keitech only, but do like some other brands occasionally for some of my shaky head fishing and Ned rigs. Like so many other topics in fishing, most things work most of the time, and people enjoy their own individual preferences for the way they fish. Quote
woolleyfooley Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Heck no! There are too many good options from several manufacturers. You’d be severely limiting yourself if you did that. Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I only fish one brand soft plastic.... At a time😂 My adviser told me to diversify my investments, (he meant buying different brands fishing gear right?) Ive got around 20-50 different brands of baits from panfish-trout-bass-pike and each one brings their own unique thing, whether the shape, scent, water displacement, or action. Why be loyal to a company you owe nothing to? While limiting yourself in every way Quote
Pat Brown Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I often purchase lots of different brands of soft plastic but when I'm casting and the fish are biting it's generally one brand at a time so even though I have different things available that exist - I very very rarely fish more than one brand of soft plastic at a time. I suppose I could do it on an Alabama rig but it might run weird with a keitech on one hook and a rage bug on another and a trick worm on one of them. Some sort of cursed chandelier. Quote
rangerjockey Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago No, not anymore. There was a time when all we had Mann's and Fliptail. Then Gene Larew , who had a little motel and guided on Table Rock just across from where I am at now , invented a way to put salt in worms and it got copied. Now, Everybody is a bait pourer. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted 3 hours ago Global Moderator Posted 3 hours ago There are so many variables in this sport already, so to place a limitation on anything seems counterproductive to me. Mike Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted 1 hour ago Super User Posted 1 hour ago I am in a bit of a different situation being Regional Pro Staff for a plastics company. Most know who that is. 😉. I have a strict rule with sponsors….no competitors allowed. In the fishing circles around me here, it’s kind of a given that you will never catch me throwing a competitors plastic. Since we are talking about plastics, my sponsor, under the old management, used to encourage me to use others knock offs and report back to them how they performed or what they could do to improve the baits. I also give them color recommendations and even new product lines that fill a need not addressed. With the new management there are multiple lines of plastics under the same umbrella but I have been asked to stay with my main brand. On a personal note, my brand has produced every style, size and color plastic I will ever use or need to use. As new products come out in the line I represent, I give them a shot and see if they make it to my “must have” list. So yes, I only use one brand of plastics……and I have zero complaints. Quote

See this is kinda what I was looking for. I knew there were some folks out there. When I lived in Florida since gambler was right there. Soooo many of us basically foshed gambler baits the selection was gigantic at tackle shops and honestly they made a version of every bait that just caught fish. Ya could mix baits in bags and not worry about scent or dislike plastics or salt. It was just easy Quote
IYAOYAS Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I don't have any issues with Googan squad soft plastics. Little known fact the bandito bug was actually designed by Scott Martin. I don't ever close my mind off to a bait company unless they have personally wronged me. You never know when you get on the water and that pinky toe colored googie worm might be the only thing they'll bite. 1 Quote
