dwtaylor Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago All, I am getting into the "medium" swimbait game and need suggestions on storage for these baits. So far I have a collection of 5" and 6" magdraft/cullshad style baits (freestyle and regular), comeback shads, 5" and 7" nessie soft glides, osakana slides, some savage gear 4 plays, and some 168 sized s wavers so far. I might add a chad shad sized hard glide too, but tbd. Right now I am planning on keeping them in the oem packaging to prevent tail warping, kind of like how I store my keitechs. However, I don't think I need to do that with the glides. I was suggested to try the thin single compartment 3700 sized lurelocks, but those seem to be quite thin and potentially warping the tails on the soft baits. They would probably work great on the hard baits though and a local store has those boxes on clearance right now. Id like to keep one box if possible, but I am open to other options. Any thoughts? Super User FishTank Posted 18 hours ago Super User Posted 18 hours ago I keep mine in thier original packaging and put them in Plano 3700 deep box. 3731 I think is model number. What I don't take with me (can't fit in the box) gets hung up on my peg board. 1 Quote
Smirak Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I have a Milwaukee packout deep that I store mine in. A lot of folks use the Plano 1-3 deep boxes too… 1 Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I use a regular Plano 3700 that costs $8-10. I have 6" Whales, 6" Daingerous and 7" ones too, along with some hollow body swimbaits and some 4.75"s too. I can fit 2 in each compartment with the Owner Beasts already rigged up to them. (Whales and Daingerous are Magdraft knockoffs if you arent familar with them) For hardbaits like the Savage glides, R2S S waves, various wake baits, 13 Glidesdales, and 6th Sense Trace swimbaits ill also use the same tray, (of course a different one since i separate hardbaits from soft, but id be able to put all the ones i like of each category in 1 tray if needed) most fit in perfectly. The ones that dont fit require the $5 Plano 3700 from Walmart that has double the width of storage at the bottom. Theres not much of a reason to worry about warping for me, because the Daingerous and Whales are a very thick and durable plastic, i store them upside down however to make sure there wont be an issue. For Magdraft style swimbaits theres no reason to go with a deep box since they fit great in a regular, and a deep takes up alot of space. However for glidebaits and hard swimbaits it would be better to go deep. Quote
camman Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I use the 3700 Deep box and try and keep the soft/hard separated and it’s been fine. I’ve noticed a little kink in the tail doesn’t impact it at all. Quote
IYAOYAS Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I just throw all mine in a non partitioned 3700 box. Haven't had any issues so far. Quote
