Bazoo Posted Tuesday at 04:05 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:05 AM I always have my Leatherman PST original in my pocket, so no pliers for me. But I do often take two rods and a pack of soft plastics. Or, I do keep a small pocketable plastic box that will have a crankbait, topwater, and a few hooks/weights/soft plastics. 1 Quote
JackstrawIII Posted Tuesday at 11:28 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:28 AM I stop on the way into the office for 20 minutes of bank fishing a few times a week. It's worth it. I just bring one pole with one lure tied on and give it a shot. If it works, great. If not, no sweat. It's just nice to have that moment of peace and quiet before the day begins. Ps. My office happens to be in a church (I'm a pastor), so I'm very familiar with stopping to fish on the way to church haha. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted Tuesday at 02:50 PM Global Moderator Posted Tuesday at 02:50 PM I drive past a few different options on the way to and from work. Many times, I'll have 15-30 minutes before I need to be there or home so I'll stop and make a few cast. I usually just have one rod with a wacky rig or Ned rig, or whatever is appropriate for the season and conditions. They'll either eat what I'm offering or they won't. I've caught some really nice ones on those quick stops though, and I catch nothing a lot like I did this morning. It was nice to stop and make a few cast while I had a minute though. 4 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted Wednesday at 09:34 PM Super User Posted Wednesday at 09:34 PM I can stop at the river sometimes after work, although even that takes me about 20min out of the way, and isn't the most productive stretch (there are better spots both upriver and down). Still, sometimes I can find a few biters in a spare hour: 2 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted Thursday at 03:42 PM Super User Posted Thursday at 03:42 PM I have a lot of advantages for short trips more than most. My church has 4 ponds. I’m there 16 hours on the weekend at church and doing security. Fishing opportunities abound, but I have to watch out for the frisbee golfers( we have a course). The pond with the biggest bass runs along the edge of the course. They don’t care if you’re there first, they will throw the frisbees whether you are there or not. I catch fish in 3 of the 4 ponds there regularly. I drive all over NE Florida working . Since I am never “ on the clock” , I often try new or old ponds wherever I am on the route. I usually limit it to an hour at the most. Caught my PB runner up around lunchtime one day in one of those ponds. I live on a small lake, so I go out 2 out of 3 days and at least cast a few times. Out of all these options you’d think I’d do better ! 2 Quote
